To the right is Allie SchmittMorris 19’, running past the West High School sign like it’s the last day of school. She sports a pair of neon green shoes and a West High Sweatshirt, which shows off her school spirit!
Left: Jessica Doyle 19’ throws wet leaves into the air, while the sun shines bright behind her. Right: The ground is covered in slick ice as Schmitt-Morris dares herself to run across it.

Portraiture Bottom: Schmitt-Morris is leaning over the ledge precariously to get a shot of Kara Wagenknecht 19’. Her purple sweatpants add a pop of color to the dull and dreary background. Right: This model, Schmitt-Morris, poses for yet another picture as she tries to take a close-up of Jenna Zeng 19’. Her Canon is in focus while she is slightly blurred and brightened by the sunlight.

Left: Jessica Doyle is in shadow as she stares out at the amazing and wonderful view of the West High parking lot. Below: A shadow of my boots and legs are thrown across the melting ice. Brown tile is visible just below the slippery, injury-causing ice.

Left: At the Iowa City Recreational Center, adults enjoy a match of tennis. Below: George Liu 19’ stands with a whiteboard, which says everything you need to know about him.

LINES
Below: Sarah Amin sits in Intro to Theatre, wondering what to do while the substitute watches all of us with a bored look. I notice her shoes and thinking of Intro to Newspaper, I ask her if I can take a picture of them. She agrees, wondering why I need a picture of her converse. Right: Sammy, a cartoon kind of looking Paint, stands alert as he is groomed. This was a Saturday afternoon, a few hours before the sun was going down. His thick coat keeps him warm in the cold weather, as we freeze in our jackets.

PERSPECTIVE Left: A girl walks with her phone, not realizing that just above, I’m creepily taking a picture of her. (I was actually going to take a picture of the window, but I saw a much better photo choice.) Above: On a cloudy day, the ice looks blue and chilling, while I stand in my boots, shivering.

Below: West High’s flagpole stands tall against the blue sky. As I’m taking the picture, I try not to slip on the ice that surrounds the pole. Right: A last minute picture of the keyboard and Kara’s hand, the people were blurred in the background, making a great aperture shot.

FREE FORM Above: Coco the pug stands in the cold, brave and bold, ready to face anything. (In reality though, she’s staring up at me ready to face the heater, inside.) Right: Manny acts as a wonderful model as he stretches out his hombre neck. This was taken on Martin Luther King Day, when all the horses were enjoying a day off.

Below: Coco Bean, watches as a car goes by, her eyes reflecting the light. I got great shots of her becuase she doesn’t like to move when she has anything on her, including warm red scarves. Right: Marcus is up close and personal, the dirt on his nose showing off his glamour and charm. He tried to nibble on my phone and fingers while I took this, but I was able to take the picture quickly and get my fingers away safely.
