Framing Ordinary objects can provide interesting framing options. The photo above is of a scene on my back porch viewed through a bench. The loop on the side of the bench frames the snowy scene. On the right, several chess pieces frame a pawn. The chess pieces are modeled on ancient ones from the Anglo-Saxons times found in the United Kingdom.

The light here is interesting. Trying to get enought light but not go all black or white was a challenge in these two oppsite photos.

Shutter speed and iso 8 FEBRUARY 2014
These photos were lots of work with lighting and time. I had to work to get the shutter speed just right yet get it bright enough to show up well. It involed a lot of lights a dragged to the sink and a lot of blurry photos.

Portriature My friend Yiming Liu ‘17 was good enough to pose for these photos. The lockers provide a good backround for her though I wish I had gotten her outfit in the photos. It was a typical Yiming outfit.

lines When you start looking you see lines everywhere. I like the top one because you can’t quite tell what it is and the second one because of the reflection. I think the lines on the top one are interesting because it almost a right angle.

light Light, using a candle in front of a window provided for some interesting pictures. The flame became a glow that illuminated the picturesque background.

I used a plant to get the picture off to the side and when I looked up I got the picture above. It was almost two for the price of one!

My dog and my sister were the inspiration for these photos. They are enjoying themselves on the couch reading and I had to take a picture. Rosie is enjoying her moment in the sun in the picture Teddy just wants to know when I am going to stop taking pictures of her.

Free form My dog is the reluctant model for these pictures. She would turn away as soon as I approached her with the camera. But they are some good shots I think.
