For my framing pictures, I found that the tall windows at West High were great. On the left, I have the window panes lined up with the sidewalk. The lines from the window panes remind of railroad tracks. On the right is a picture of a screen with a hole punctured in it. I really liked how the lines led to the hole then broke off.

Page Finding images to photograph demonstrating shutter speed was difficult for me. While looking, I saw someone use the drinking fountain and noticed the water splashing could look cool so I took a picture of that. On the left, I originally had a picture of a ceiling fan, but knew I absolutely hated it. On a Friday night, my mom and my dog Bella took a walk on Benton Street and ‘blazed a trail.’ I’m still not completely happy with this photo, but it is better than the past.

On the left, I have a photo of some fake leaves. I found these in Mrs. Whittaker’s room. On the right, I took a picture of rusted stair well handles. I really like this photo because of the red paint and the metal shining through.

ISO 8 FEBRUARY 2016

On the top, I took a picture of my stairwell. I like how the light, which wasn’t very bright, looks so white. I also like how the wood doesn’t look like wood and it is very dream like. On the right, I took a picture of the keyboard I’m working at. I think the dust looks really cool, but it kind of freaks me out at the same time.

Portaiture

On the top, Peyton Freeney ‘19, is smiling in the hallway. He says he was not skipping, however I’m not sure I believe him. On the top right is Crystal Kim ‘19 taking a photo, and on the bottom right is Ala Ali ‘19 is having a conversation with a friend.

Lines

On the left is the brick columns in the commons of West High. I really like this picture because the colunmns look like one wall and not different columns. On the right is a step on an old pick up truck. I thought this was really cool, but my dad thought it was weird to take photos of a random truck in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Light

14 FEBRUARY 2016

On the left, I have a picture of a light in my front yard. My dad’s an electrician so we have lights everywhere. I like that you can see the ice in this. On the left is a picture of my shadow at West High. It makes my legs look skinny.

On the left I have a picture of the bottom part of locker lock. On the right I have a picture of the flag in front of West High from a bird’s eye view.

Free Form I really liked the way wood looks because of the grain. On the bottom I have a picture of stair rails and on the right I have a picture of a bench. I like the details in the grain here.

On the top, I have another picture of a bench. I like the way the lines lead to the same place. On the right I have a picture of a wooden basket found in the newsroom.
