Fashion forecast New season, new wardrobe – it’s that time again. But what are the coolest collaborations and latest brands you’ll want to wear this autumn and winter? We reveal the must-have pieces at intu

Bravo, bellisima! H&M has teamed up with Italian luxury brand Moschino for its latest collaboration. Overseen by Jeremy Scott (pictured right, with H&M’s Ann-Sofie Johansson and Gigi Hadid), the brand’s signature playful designs will form the basis of a collection that boasts sportswear, reconfigured denim and cropped silhouettes, alongside some seriously fun prints.

Richard Quinn at Debenhams £115

Birds of a feather Debenhams has continued adding to its Designers at Debenhams range this year. Jenny Packham, Henry Holland, Janet Reger and Matthew Williamson are already part of the flock, but now husband-and-wife team Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi’s label Preen is being welcomed into the nest with a 12-piece range. The capsule collection includes wrap dresses, psychedelic florals, trench coats and a reworking of its archive prints. The signature brand counts the Duchess of Cambridge and Michelle Obama as fans, so choosing to wear its designs puts you in very good company. intu.co.uk/watford

Flower power

Studio by Preen at Debenhams £199

One of the fastest rising stars of British fashion, Richard Quinn is a Central Saint Martins graduate whose debut show at London Fashion Week was attended by none other than the Queen. He has since dressed Amal Clooney and Thandie Newton, and while red carpet fashions may be beyond the means of the average high-street shopper, luckily the team at Debenhams have worked with him to create a more accessible collection. Expect big floral prints across a flute-sleeved midi dress, a Bardot-neck jumpsuit, full-skirted prom dress, evening gowns in velvet and chiffon, and a chic drop-waist LBD. intu 11

Radar Style council What does every modern working woman need? A well-cut, carefully considered wardrobe that can be added to with ease, featuring pieces she can slip into effortlessly, confident in the knowledge that she looks great. John Lewis has long championed quality, simplicity and style, and this winter it debuts John Lewis & Partners Womenswear. The eponymous 300-piece collection is built around the idea of individuality and the myriad ways the range can be styled. There are no gimmicks, simply contemporary pieces and a commitment to a four-strong colour story for each season. The launch collection is anchored around cool blues, warm autumnal colours, fresh greens and rich reds. The range boasts 22 coats, nine dress silhouettes, two jeans, 15 trouser styles and 69 shoe designs, among other offerings. With prices ranging from £10 for a jersey tank top to £250 for a cashmere coat, your wardrobe’s future is looking very bright.

Jean queens The first in-house brand for John Lewis, AND/OR is keeping its commitment to LA cool. Created in collaboration with American denim expert Calvin Rucker, the collection focuses on jeans but includes an extensive range of clothing, footwear and accessories. This season sees dark indigo rinses and black washes across key high-waist denim shapes and the introduction of two new styles: the

super-wide leg; and cargo boyfriend, plus billowing silhouettes and patchwork prints.

Previously an online-only brand, Hush is becoming a big noise at John Lewis. Its first foray into bricks and mortar was back in 2016 and now the line is coming to intu Watford. The new range continues in the signature style: Hush at a contemporary John Lewis interpretation of classic £35 shapes, soft fabrics and beautiful cuts for women. We love the range of everyday favourites and, especially, the new asymmetric midi skirts with handkerchief hems– perfect for every occasion. In store now, Hush at get them before they go! Not one to be left behind when it comes to the current trend for designer collaborations with high-street brands, Next has launched its new Label/Mix. It’s a collection of high-end clothing designed in partnership with a changing roster of emerging designers. The result is an edit of limited-edition pieces, all of which are intended to be mixed and matched. Designers this season include Isa Arfen, Zazou and LF Markey. These lines can be ordered online and collected in store.

Made popular by the Spice Girls and cyberpunk fashionistas, the Buffalo platform sneaker was a 90s style icon. This over-the-top look seemed destined to remain forever on underground dance floors. But with a 90s fashion revival

astering the no makeup look takes a little more effort than you might expect. The key to luminous natural-looking skin is a good base, so start with 1 Emma Hardie Protect & Prime SPF30, 50ml (M&S, £46), to create a smooth, even surface for applying foundation. At the same time, give the skin a gentle massage to help boost circulation for a healthy glow. Next, mix a small amount of 2 Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer and 3 Laura Mercier Radiance Bronze Foundation Primer, 50ml (both John Lewis, £25.50), and lightly blend in to the skin. Smoothe a thin layer of 4 Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF20 (John Lewis, £28.90) on top. Apply 5 Estée Lauder Double Wear Brush-On Glow BB Highlighter, 2.2ml (Debenhams, £25) to areas that need it: around the nose, chin and under the eyes. We used 6 MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot, 5g (MAC Cosmetics, £16.50) as a soft, neutral shadow across the eyelids – and no mascara. Then, lightly fill in the eyebrows with MAC Great Brows, Lingering (MAC Cosmetics, £22.50) and 7 Revolution Pro Microblading Precision Eyebrow Pencil, Taupe (Superdrug, £4). The quilted puffa jacket first appeared on the fashion scene in the 80s. Worn in big, bold colours it was the epitome of aprèsski chic. This season, the puffa is once again the coat du jour, this time in an array of off-kilter shapes, vibrant prints and tactile fabrics. Remember, the bigger and puffier it is, the better. Opt for an oversized jacket worn with tailored trousers or a slimline skirt. And did we mention that you won’t find a warmer or more comfortable coat?

Beauty memo

Slippery when wet Low-maintenance women rejoice! It doesn’t get much easier than the wet look art to creating this striking look. Start by applying strong-hold gel to damp hair, focusing on the front half of your head and behind the ears. Comb the gel through your hair, then run your fingers through it to gently soften any lines. Next, make a side parting. As the gel dries, spray on extrastrong hairspray. Spritz a generous amount of dry oil spray over the rest of your hair to keep it looking wet, and you’re good to go.

Roberto Cavalli

Once the staple of 80s rock music videos, the wet-look hairstyle graced many AW18 runways, including those of Erdem, Jason Wu, Coach, and Fenty x Puma by Rihanna. Good news for those who are always in a hurry, looking like you got caught in a downpour on your way to work is incredibly chic. Think hair that looks like you’ve just stepped out of the shower. It’s wet but not sopping, with a raked-through texture. However, there is an

Great skin is your best asset. Invest a little extra time into your beauty routine to breathe life into a dull or tired looking complexion. Don’t layer on heavy concealers, foundations and powders. Instead, focus on your prep: moisturisers, primers and strobe creams will create a good base. Combined with healthy eating and plenty of sleep, your skin should stay healthy and radiant looking all year round.

Soft touch

This could be a good season to invest in statement furniture. Choose a classic sofa covered in a bold coloured fabric, like a green velvet Chesterfield.

Design addicts will delight at the tactile fabrics that are having a style refresh this winter. Here’s how to add texture to your home furnishings and accessories Velvet and leather have long been synonymous with luxury and opulence. As pared-back Scandi styling loses momentum, this season’s fabrics herald a return to glamour as our love affair with luxe enjoys a revival. Sleek leather and soft velvet in statement pieces will bring warmth and sophistication to your home.

Q: How do I keep to my fitness regime now the summer sun has gone? A: Just because it’s cold and dark doesn’t mean you have an excuse not to exercise – indoor classes such as yoga, barre, pilates and spinning offer the same great workouts with central heating! A new gym kit, however, makes finding the motivation much easier. Guys should check out JD Sports, Jack Wills and the new Under Armour range at John Lewis. Ladies, head to M&S for ab-fab crop tops. Health and fitness The latest nutrition and health tips, served up with a side order of fitness fashion Q: My skin tends to get dry very quickly in winter and my energy levels dip. What can I do to give myself a quick boost? A: Lock in much-needed hydration for the face with a good beauty serum. Green People’s Hydrating Firming Serum (£19.50 from Panacea & Health & Beauty) is good for all skin types. And there’s no better way to improve your health and vitality than with a balanced diet that’s rich in vitamins and vegetable-based nut and avocado oils. A green juice will give you an instant energy lift. Try The Hulk at Fuel Juice Bar, along with a glass of water for extra hydration. 42 intu

Psst! Add a ‘super fuel’ shot to your smoothie to suit your mood. Choose from super energy, fruit, greens, protein or multivitamin. The perfect fix to get you on the move.

Q: I’m keen to try natural ways to boost my memory this winter. What do you suggest? A: Gingko is an ingredient used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to boost both memory and circulation. Why not try Herbal Inn’s Gingko Pearl Oral Liquid (£10)? The added calcium from the pearl extract is believed to support skin health too.

Q: I’ve been hearing how important gut health is recently. How can I ensure my tummy is in tip-top condition? A: They don’t call it the ‘second brain’ for nothing. The gut microbiome, which is host to no less than 100 trillion bacteria, affects everything from skin health and sex drive to energy levels and hormone balance. A no-brainer for overall health, ‘sleep more and stress less’ is pivotal for good gut health. Cut back on caffeine; and swap tea and coffee for herbal

infusions. Heath & Heather’s Organic Camomile & Spearmint 20 Tea Bags (£2.49 from Holland & Barratt), are delicious and naturally caffeine-free. Make time for a cuppa. intu.co.uk/watford
