As we approach the close of 2024, it’s an opportunity to reflect on a year that has been as dynamic as it has been rewarding. This year, the iNUA Hotel Collection and Cliste Hospitality has reached significant milestones that we are very proud of. These are only achieved by the efforts of all of you, so in turn I hope you wear your pride for yourself and your team alike.

The final edition of our 2024 TeamTalks magazine is a celebratory one! From revealing the prestigious Hotel of the Year awards, these are incredible testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire teams in the Radisson Blu in Limerick, the Gateway Hotel in Dundalk and the Muckross Park Hotel & Spa, to recognising our outstanding managers and celebrating recent graduations, this issue is filled with reasons to be proud. As we wrap up 2024, we look ahead to crowning our colleagues of the year at the team awards in January! Read on to see the fabulous entries of the Christmas colouring competition & lucky winners, my favourite competition of the year.

Among our key achievements, we welcomed the Keadeen Hotel and team to the Group in August and launched our second Bar & Restaurant with David Jordan in Cork, Fork & Wheel, in November. We introduced five fantastic Food & Beverage concepts: Ember at the Hibernian, Pomo in voco Belfast, 54 Degrees in the Gateway, the Marina Club in Radisson Blu Athlone, and Snug Grub, our in-house delivery menu.

We also hosted high-profile events like the Fine Gael ‘Think In’ at Tullamore Court Hotel, the Down Syndrome Ireland AGM at Radisson Blu Sligo, and a VOYA/Emirates Airlines launch at Ariel House. Additionally, we celebrated 406 weddings and thousands of family occasions and celebrations.

This year, we heard from you through three key surveys: the Great Place to Work survey in September with 1,114 responses, our Summer Check-In with 1,117 responses, representing over 80% of our team, and an inclusion and diversity-focused survey in April. We have partnered with the Irish Centre for Diversity to review your feedback and guide us to action. We have reviewed existing policies and introduced new ones on Gender Identity, Menopause, Fertility Treatments, and Assisted Human Reproduction—these will be shared in the coming weeks. We remain committed to acting on your input and striving to make our company a truly great place to work.

2024 brought its challenges, with shifting consumer demands and economic pressures testing our plans. Yet, as a team, we adapted and succeeded. Your resilience, hard work, and collaboration have been the cornerstone of our achievements.

Looking ahead to 2025, I believe this year’s efforts and investments have set us up for continued growth. With your support, I’m confident in our team’s ability to achieve great things.

In this season of gratitude, thank you for your trust and dedication—you’ve made a real difference. Wishing you and your family a joyful Christmas, and a peaceful, welldeserved holiday break. Here’s to a bright and prosperous New Year.

Warm regards,

CEO Hotel Operations at Cliste Hospitality & The iNUA Hotel Collection

Here are our top 3 hotels of the year, from Bronze, to Silver to Gold.

Hotel of the Year Gold Award 2024 –Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Limerick

Time for our 2023 winner Hillgrove Hotel to hand over the mantle - this top accolade this year recognises Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Limerick for outstanding guest experience, colleague satisfaction, and business performance. A well-deserved award for a strong collaborative team effort throughout 2024, here is what General Manager Brian Harrington had to say after accepting this prestigious award on behalf of the hotel and its team.

Needless to say, the entire Team at Limerick Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa were delighted to finally win Gold at the recent iNUA Awards, for Hotel of the Year. In 2022, we were delighted to make the breakthrough by winning Bronze, and we made further progress in 2023 by winning Silver and so whilst winning Gold may have seemed like a natural progression it certainly wasn’t that simple. As you will know there are 19 metrics used to determine the annual scores. These metrics provide a good measure of the entire hotel’s performance and so you really need to score well in all, to have a chance of top 3. More often than not, only a couple of points separate hotels final scores and so you really can’t afford to do poorly in any area, this strong competition shows how highly each hotel scores consistently. No one person is going to be able to meet all of the targets and so it is truly a team effort. We are fortunate in Limerick to have an exceptional Management Team who take pride in their department’s performance, and this is evidenced in the very consistent scoring we have achieved, which this year resulted in us securing the Gold Award of which we are all very proud.

Congratulations again to the Limerick team! You have come from winning Bronze in 2022, to joint Silver in 2023 to Gold in 2024 – the drive to succed is clear, and best of luck in 2025.

THE CONCEPT OF FORK & WHEEL

Having recently launched in November, The Fork & Wheel is the latest F&B success being celebrated in 2024. Located in the heart of Midleton in East Cork, it is led by our colleague David Jordan whose vision starting out was to transform the former Two Mile Inn into a new local dining scene by weaving a deep sense of tradition and spirit into the community. This has led to the dynamic establishment of The Fork & Wheel, encompassing a restaurant, café, and pub, that are deeply integrated in the rich agricultural heritage of East Cork. It is fast becoming a central gathering spot for the community, spotlighting high-quality, locally sourced ingredients that honour the local farmers and fishermen. The restaurant is committed to offering a consistently outstanding dining experience, driven by a steadfast dedication to quality and excellence.

The Fork & Wheel stands as a local pillar, with designs to contribute positively and foster connections around Midleton through employment, supporting local businesses and serving the community.

The Café: Open daily from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the café provides a distinctive opportunity for guests to participate in the coffee-making process, with upcoming features like “roast your own beans” starting next year. The café offers light breakfast options and gourmet lunch sandwiches. A Barista School is also set to launch in 2025. 5mile Coffee is the central focus here, with exceptional coffees served everyday by the skilled barista team.

Restaurant: Operating 7 days from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM, the restaurant presents a varied menu that includes a midday carvery and an all-day dining option until late evening, with a wine and cocktail list with a focus on whiskey and coffee, celebrating our 5mile Coffee and Midleton’s rich heritage with Jameson whiskey.

Pub: With the same hours as the restaurant but open later, the pub exudes a vibrant atmosphere with sports broadcasts and live traditional music nights. Patrons are welcome to order from the restaurant menu or just have a drink.
