Distilling the Spirit of Wicklow

June 13th, 2023 marks a momentous occasion for Powerscourt Distillery as we celebrate the fifth anniversary of our inaugural distillation. This significant milestone in our company’s history was recently commemorated in April with the release of our very first Fercullen Single Malt Irish Whiskey, a product that has been distilled and matured right here in Wicklow for the first time in over a century.

Fercullen Single Malt, crafted entirely from local ingredients and aged in our on-site maturation warehouse, draws in the pure air of the Wicklow mountains and benefits from the unique microclimate found in this remarkable location, widely regarded as one of he world’s best for aging premium whiskeys.

We have been delighted and humbled to receive many auspicious awards for our Fercullen whiskeys over the last few years and honoured to receive the “Best Irish Master Distiller & Blender” for our Master Distiller Paul Corbett and “Best Visitor Centre Attraction” for our Distillery & Visitor centre in 2023, along with commendations from Forbes magazine and Lonely Planet naming us as one of the top 4 things to do in Wicklow, none of which could be possible without the extraordinary and

Centre exists to inspire and celebrate the Extraordinary Spirit.

In conjunction with this momentous occasion of releasing our first-ever 100% Wicklow distilled whiskey, and as a token of our gratitude for the support received from the people of Wicklow, we are thrilled to announce the inaugural winners of the “Spirit of Wicklow” awards for 2023.
