Are you ready for a nostalgic journey to the past? The new project of the Zagreb’s Ethnographic Museum which is open till May 2022,will remind us of the carefree world of our childhood and teach us about traditional and modern toy design.

The central exhibition of the project was conceived as a journey through the history of Croatian toys and children’s games from the held collections of the Ethnographic Museum,from the end of the19th century to the present day. Traditional toys, especially those from the Hrvatsko Zagorje region, which are listed as non-tangible heritage of the UNESCO’s Representative List, are hereby introduced to children and adults in an educational and appealing manner.

25.11 - 29.01 » ANA HušMAN - ‘A PERSON WiTHOuT A HOuSE iS HOMELESS, WHAT iS A HOuSE WiTHOuT PERSON?’ This film installation by Ana Hušman is specially designed for the Richter Collection space. It was created after two years of researching the collection, archives and former apartment of the Kares Richter couple. The audience is invited to take a walk around the house, to be exposed to potential scenarios for the use of space, to follow the dialogical landmarks created on the theoretical texts of Vjenceslav Richter. The exhibition is accompanied by a publication of the same name, which, along with the curators of the exhibition, Ivana Meštrov and Jasna Jakšić, brings an unpublished text by Vjenceslav Richter which, in today’s climate crisis and the transport and infrastructure crisis caused by pandemic reality seems extremely relevant.QThe Richter Collection, Vrhovec 38, tel. 17.12 - 27.03 » SLAvKO KOPAč A multimedia exhibition on Slavko Kopač shows the work of a Croatian artist who belongs to the top achievements of domestic and world art, and strongly marked the French and European art scene of the second half of the 20th century. Associating with world-renowned artists such as Jean Dubuffet, André Breton and Michel Tapié, he created trends in Paris, the world’s art centre. The exhibition will show a selection of Kopač’s most excellent paintings and sculptures from private collections and museum institutions and will provide an insight into the cultural circumstances of the cities where the artist worked (Vinkovci, Zagreb, Florence, Mostar, Paris). The exhibition will extend through all the exhibition spaces of Meštrović’s pavilion and will include the exterior, where various installations will be placed. During 2020, more events prompted reflections on such a nature of things and phenomena. Starting from the accumulation of kinetic energy before the earthquake, incubation before the onset of disease symptoms to the accumulation of the number of infected before the sudden outbreak of a pandemic.The accumulation of energy and its sudden release is present in research in various fields of science: in physics, chemistry, political science, economics, biology, ecology, but also in art. The exhibition in the gallery space shows the accumulation of energy through a spatial installation in which the data elements react to the presence and action of visitors, creating tension. With this album “Fortitude” released in 2021, Gojira embarks on a major world tour that will take them to the main stages of the world’s largest festivals in 2022. Jazz in the City

In these places you can always find a good jazz concert in town. Močvara offers Jazz concerts twice a month, be sure to check out their website mocvara.com for exact dates and times, and you can also buy tickets online. On Wednesdays, the Sax club offers the New Croatian Jazz concert programme and admission is free. KCM in Mesnička Street offers jazz sessions usually on Thursdays, so stop by. In the Zagreb Jazz cycle at the Museum of Contemporary Art on February 2, you can listen to Lars Lindvall: Exploring & Experiencing Together; on April 20 comes Viktor Goines, saxophone; and May 18 Thana Alexa. You can get tickets for 50 HRK.
