Willow clearance

Reed cutting

At Higher and Lower Moors Nature Trails we’ll be clearing an amount of willow to help prevent these wetlands from drying out.

We’ll encourage fresh growth by cutting back reed at Higher and Lower Moors Nature Trails. Bracken clearance Bracken is a dominant fern that can outcompete wild flowers and grasses.

We’ll clear areas, to remove dead vegetation, before cutting the new growth in the Spring and Summer. This Winter we’ll be clearing bracken at places such as the Garrison, Peninnis Head, Carn Morval, and Pendrethen to Watermill.
