EXPERIENCE THE TABLE THIS FALL

BY SARAH MASON, MUSIC AND WORSHIP COORDINATOR

“The Table Service is an inviting space to all. IPC members, neighbors, and visitors can worship with us regardless of where they are on their faith journey. The casual dress and music can be a great choice for those who enjoy a more relaxed style. It’s also a great opportunity for people who work or travel on the weekend to get to church.

With weekly Communion by Intinction and Prayers of the People, along with modern cool song arrangements, and thoughtful sermons, The Table has a very inclusive feel that has attracted a dedicated community of followers."

At IPC, The Table worship service offers a one-of-akind musical experience featuring talented musicians from different parts of Birmingham. Their individual styles are blended to create a unique sound that is a pleasure to listen to. Our music selection includes both hymns and modern contemporary pieces, resulting in an eclectic mix. Each week, we showcase a variety of instruments such as guitar, piano, pedal steel, violin, and trumpet.

The Table is a space where you can come as you are. We want participants to feel comfortable worshiping with children around, and it’s common to hear a random “amen” from the crowd. The sermon carries over from the morning worship services, with music as the medium that brings all aspects of the Table service together. There is time for reflection and prayer, and we strive to provide a musical atmosphere that is able to help facilitate an experience that brings you closer to God and a connection with others.

Worship With Us On Sunday Evenings

All are invited to the Table. We’ll be in Highland Hall each Sunday at 5 pm.

“The time and casual style (e.g., coffee, cookies, and children coloring at their parent’s feet) make for a wonderful atmosphere for all ages. It is especially nice for children, people who are just returning from active afternoons and/or neighborhood visitors who may be intimidated by the formality of the morning services.

With traditional liturgy so familiar to our members, the service incorporates music that is lively and spiritually energizing. The name, Table, exemplifies our core value of a welcoming community for any and all who will come and worship. Everyone is welcome!”
