PANEL OF JUDGES As Chief Executive Officer of REA Group, Tracey Fellows is responsible for the Group’s operations and investments in Australia, Europe, North America and Asia - which includes iProperty Group, Asia’s leading online advertising business serving the real estate industry. Prior to joining REA Group in August 2014, Tracey was Executive General Manager of Communication Management Services at Australia Post, responsible for the physical and digital mail business which encompassed 13,000 employees.

TRACEY FELLOWS Chief Executive Officer, REA Group

Previously, Tracey was based in Singapore as Microsoft Vice-President for the Asia-Pacific region, responsible for sales, services, and marketing across 12 countries. Prior to this, Tracey was Managing Director of Microsoft Australia for four years and also served on the ninemsn board. Tracey has also held senior roles with Dell and IBM. Born in Canada, Tracey holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Banking Management from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management. She lives in Melbourne with her husband Ian and son Jake.

Chris founded CHUR ASSOCIATES® in 2003 and positioned it as a boutique legal service provider that is friendly driven for an effective business solution and a niche positioning from Corporate Advisory to “Everything Real Estate”. Chris was appointed to the Board of Directors of FIABCI International to preside over the portfolio of Young Members aged 35 and below for the term 2009/ 2010. He was awarded the FIABCI Medal of Honour for his outstanding services to FIABCI and was one of the youngest recipients to receive such honor in the history of FIABCI. Chris is also a Technical Committee member of the National Economic Action Council of the Prime Minister’s Department to devise strategies that stimulate the property sector in Malaysia.

CHRIS TAN CHUR PIM Chur Associates, Founder & Managing Director

Daniel Ho, a pioneering entrepreneur, author, and public speaker is the Group Managing Director of IQI and its group of companies. He is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of group-wide strategies covering products, sales, marketing and development. Ho is on the advisory board of a number of publicly listed developers to provide services around concepts and commercialisation strategies for new developments and plays a pivotal role in establishing joint ventures and fund syndication for new property developments.

Ho has over 20 years of experience in the Malaysian corporate and business sector having previously been a key member of the funding and fund raising board that established a multimillion dollar oleo chemical plant in Malaysia as well as pioneering the multinational French firm, Legrand’s first foray and success in the Malaysian market in his early twenties.

Dr. James Tee, author of the book entitled “Malaysian Real Estate Industry – Value Creation Strategies”, is also the CEO of Setia Awan Group. He was formerly the Executive Director of UOA Holdings, an award-winning Top 10 largest property group in Malaysia. Dr. Tee, who was a Board Member of UOA Asset Management, previously worked for the Hong Leong Group, Kurnia Asia and McKinsey & Company. Dr. Tee holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge. A Commonwealth Scholar, he also has a First Class Honours Degree in Bachelor of Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Dr. Tee served as the Honorary Secretary of the Malaysian REIT Managers Association (MRMA) from 2011 to 2015 and has been a member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO) since 2011.

Ir. Kok Yen-Kwan is a practicing Professional Electrical Engineer with more than 12 years of experience in the building construction industry and is currently the Head of Sustainability in an Energy and Green Building firm. Professionally, he is a BEM-registered Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer (with ECUK), REEM (with Energy Commission of Malaysia) and GBI Facilitator (with GBI Sdn. Bhd.).

IR. KOK YEN KWAN Board Member, Malaysia Green Building Confederation

He is a 5-term Board Member of the Malaysia Green Building Confederation (MGBC) and currently chairs the Standing Committee on Events, Media & Communications. He has also sat on the Panel of Assessors of the Green Pages Malaysia (GPM) Directory for all 4 editions published thus far and on the Panel of Judges for the Eco Product and Eco Booth Design Awards @ ARCHIDEX. Yen-Kwan also chairs the Green Energy Technology (GET) as well as being a Council Member of TEEAM; and Committee Member of IET Malaysia Network-2015 and Hon. Secretary of Malaysia Green Building Confederation 2009-2011.

PANEL OF JUDGES Ar. (Dr) Mohd Zulhemlee An received the Bachelor of Architecture from University of Arkansas, USA in 1988. He has 27 years of experience in the field of architecture. Ar. Mohd Zulhemlee has been involved with Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia since 2003 and is currently the President of the Institute (session 2015/2017).

Ar. Sarly Adre Sarkum is an architecture futurist, sustainability proponent, and design activist. Currently, he helms the hybrid architectural design firm [SA] 2 or Sarly Adre Sarkum Architecture Sdn. Bhd., which combines cutting edge architectural design solutions with extensive researched based explorative approach to solving challenging integrated design problems. Sarly is the President of the Malaysia Green Building Confederation (MGBC) (session 2014/2016) – which is Malaysia’s Green Building Council under the auspices of the World Green Building Council (WGBC), as well as an elected Council Member of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (The Malaysian Institute of Architects); and also sits as one of the five directors of the Green Building Index (GBI) Green Rating Tool.

Khiew joined Akzo Nobel Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as Manager - IDA (Interior Designer, Architect & Specifier) Relationship & Sustainability. She is actively involved in influencers programs and works closely with professionals and professional associations. Khiew is also leading the Product Stewardship for Malaysia by championing for green and sustainability initiatives. As the world’s largest global paints and coatings company, AkzoNobel has been placed in top three positions in Down Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the past ten years. Khiew also holds the position as Hon. Secretary of Malaysian Paint Manufacturers Association (MPMA).

Daron Cheah was appointed as the Managing Director of USG BORAL for Malaysia and Singapore business in 2014. Daron obtained his MBA in 2001 and is also a Certified Accountant with the Malaysia Institute of Accountants and a fellow member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). He has also worked for many multinational companies prior to joining USG BORAL as CFO before being appointed to his current role. Daron has been tasked to grow the plasterboard business and expand the usage of drywall in both residential and commercial properties. USG and Boral came together in 2014, with both companies bringing together over a century worth of knowledge, experience and technical know-how. Both companies were established in Malaysia in the 90’s.

THE AWARDS

The Awards iProperty.com Malaysia, the country’s No.1 property website, is back with its third installment of its People’s Choice Awards (PCA), the only consumer selected awards for property developers. The inaugural event which was launched in 2014 received overwhelming support from both developers and consumers in the prior 2 years. The objective of the awards was to give due recognition to the unsung heroes in the property industry who have successfully shaped the skylines of Malaysia. In 2015, hundreds of submissions were received and after a thorough review from the panel of judges compromising industry experts, a total of 63 entries were shortlisted. More than 20,000 consumers voted for their preferred developer/development, double the number of votes in 2014. Entries were judged based on design, innovation, concepts, potential capital appreciation, developer’s track record, amenities, sustainability and more. This year, with 2 new categories introduced, the PCA once again recognised the best in the industry, purely from a consumer perspective.

Prior to inviting the general public to vote, a panel of highly acclaimed judges was invited to review and shortlist the entries received based on a set of criteria. The panelists were given the duty of studying the submissions, making sure they met all the criteria and proceeded to narrow it down to no more than ten nominees per category. PKF also ensured the legitimacy of the process by overseeing the download of the polling results.

Bandar Malaysia is an urban development project in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will be a key development zone in Malaysia.
