A triumphant night of celebration On 3rd November 2015, iProperty.com Malaysia once again paid the highest recognition to outstanding developers that have and continue to shape the skylines of Malaysia. Dubbed the Oscars of the real estate industry, the iProperty.com People’s Choice Awards, now in its second year, was truly a night of triumphant celebration. Building a property that meets the demands of property buyers and investors is certainly no easy task. A lot of research on the current market trends as well as understanding consumer behavior is required. It’s because of this due diligence, millions of property buyers and investors are proud to call these outstanding developments their home or office space. As such, it was only befitting that these developers received the due recognition they deserve for building developments that are of exceptional quality in all aspects. This year, over 100 entries were received and the panel of judges certainly did not have an easy task shortlisting it down to 84 highly esteemed finalists, before Malaysians were invited to vote for their most preferred developer and developments in the 15 categories set. We are pleased to announce that this year, more than 20,000 Malaysians from all walks of life have voted for their preferred developer and developments. Double the amount to last year, which is extremely exciting news. To all our winners and highly acclaimed finalists, congratulations on being the crème de la crème of the industry. GEORG CHMIEL Managing Director & CEO iProperty Group As Managing Director & CEO of the iProperty Group, Asia’s No.1 network of property portal sites and real estate services, Georg is responsible for the operation of the Group’s businesses across the Asian region. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Prior to joining the iProperty Group, Georg was non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee as well as CEO and Managing Director of LJ Hooker for four years. He also held the position of Chief Financial Officer and General Manager International at REA Group Ltd (ASX:REA) for almost six years.

AHYAT ISHAK Founder The Strategic Property Investor Model & Program Ahyat Ishak has helped many Malaysians create immense and sustainable wealth through property investment. He first began property investing for more than a decade ago and became a property millionaire before the age of 30, having started from humble beginnings. David S. Chong was called to the Bar of England & Wales as a Barristerat-Law at Lincoln’s Inn in 2006. After being called to the Malaysian Bar, he commenced his career as a corporate lawyer at the KL office of Zico Law (a regional ASEAN Law Firm) and subsequently moved into real estate related work. In his real estate career, he has worked as a property negotiator, a legal manager in a boutique private equity property development company in Malaysia and was later attached to Ray White Real Estate’s Melbourne office in Australia. David initially joined Malaysia Property Incorporated (a Malaysian Government Initiative focusing on promoting Malaysia and attracting foreign direct investment into Malaysian real estate) in 2013 and was recently promoted to Vice President (1) in 2015.

Mr. Chan graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) and Masters of Architecture (Distinction) from Victoria University in Wellington New Zealand. He has more than 20 years working experience as a Professional Architect and is the founder of Arkitek Daya Seni (ADS) Sdn Bhd. As principal architect of ADS, he has completed high rise condos, hotels, shopping malls and housing projects in Malaysia, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. He is currently serving as President of Persatuan Arkitek Malaysia for the tenure of 2013-2015. He has also been appointed as a Board member of the Board of Architects Malaysia 2011-2015 and Hon. Secretary of Malaysia Green Building Confederation 2009-2011.

CHRIS TAN CHUR PIM Founder & Managing Partner Chur Associates Chris founded CHUR ASSOCIATES® in 2003 and positioned it as a boutique legal service provider that is friendly driven for effective business solution and a niche positioning from Corporate Advisory to “Everything Real Estate”. Chris was appointed to the Board of Directors of FIABCI International to preside over the portfolio of Young Members aged 35 and below for the term 2009/ 2010. He was awarded with the FIABCI Medal of Honour for his outstanding services to FIABCI and was one of the youngest recipients to receive such honour in the history of FIABCI. Chris is also a Technical Committee member under the National Economic Action Council of the Prime Minister’s Department to devise strategies that stimulate the property sector in Malaysia.

Owen has been growing with the company for the past 5 years from the former ICI Paints to Today’s Akzo Nobel paints. With his extensive and solid experience in Building Construction for the past 20 years, Owen has since creates more value for its customers and stakeholders – building on the mega brand Dulux. The Awards iProperty.com Malaysia, the country’s No.1 property website, is back with the second instalment of its People’s Choice Awards (PCA) , the only consumer selected awards for property developers. The inaugural event which was launched in 2014 received overwhelming support from both developers and consumers. The objective of the awards was to give due recognition to the unsung heroes in the property industry who have successfully shaped the skylines of Malaysia. Last year, over 140 submissions were received and after thorough review from a panel of judges comprising industry experts, a total of 55 entries were shortlisted and Malaysians were invited to vote for their preferred development and or developer. Entries were judged based on design, innovation, concepts, potential capital appreciation, developer’s track record, amenities, sustainability and more. This year, with five additional categories, the PCA is set to once again recognize the best in the industry, purely from a consumer perspective.

Prior to inviting the general-public to vote, a panel of highly acclaimed judges were invited to review and shortlist the entries received based on a set of criteria. The panelists were given the duty of studying the submissions, making sure they met all the criteria and proceeded to narrow it down to no more than ten nominees per category.

The iProperty Group Award This year, due to the iProperty Group’s regional presence in Asia Pacific, a special award category has been added. Aptly named the Best Luxury Development Asia Pacific, the award honours a developer with an outstanding presence in the Asia Pacific region.
