Call for Article Submission - Phytotherapy in Modern Healthcare The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) African Regional Office (AfRO) and European Regional Office (EuRO) are opening a Call for Article Submissions on Phytotherapy in Modern Healthcare. The submission of literature reviews will start on March 1st and end on March 20th. Papers will be chosen on the basis of the criteria listed below. They will be published in the Interregional Phytotherapy Campaign Booklet, which will be a publication of both regional offices. DL: The submission form will open on March 1st, 00:00 GMT +1. Applicants can upload their work until March 20th, 23:59 GMT +1. Background information This year, the Pharmacy Education Week Campaign created by EuRO and AfRO will be focusing on phytotherapy and its use in modern medicine. Our goal is to bring our members more insight on the topic of Phytotherapy, its significance in healthcare and new innovations in the field,all without forgetting professional development in some stated fields of pharmacy. Criteria for applicants: ● ● ● ●
Be an IPSF member - either Regular or Individual member; Submit a valid IPSF Confirmation Letter (can be issued by Contact Person/Individual Membership Coordinator); Work in groups is allowed; Groups should not exceed three (3) members, all members need to be members of the same IPSF Member Organisation.
Criteria for the literature review: ●

Your article should be on the topic: Phytotherapy in modern healthcare, or any project done regarding plant-based treatment approaches, as well as novel innovations in the field of phytotherapy; It can be either a presentation of your own scientific work or effect of your literature research; The article must be written in English; Suggested word count: 300 - 1200 (submissions outside of this word count will still be considered); Your paper should include the following headings:
Abstract
It should not exceed more than 250 words. The abstract is the most read part and should be meticulous.
Introduction
It should be a short paragraph to help the reader situate the context of the theme investigated. The last paragraph should gather the objective of the study which will be reflected in the Results section.
Material and Methods
You should indicate the type of the study (observational, retrospective, etc.), the observed subjects, or the persons who participated in the studies.
Depending on the literature you will review, you will have to explain the methods used with the material. Results
It should reflect the objective.
Discussion
You should explain the results and express what new and important aspects came out of it. You should talk about the limits and consequences for future investigations.
Conclusion
You should make connections with the objective and avoid writing general sentences.
Annexes
If you want to include photos or graphics, you should quote them in the text. The photos and graphics will be added in the Annexes part. Each graphic should have a title.
References
The References should be organised in a clear way, appropriate for a science review.

Of course, depending on the type of article, you will have to adapt each section; The candidates are expected to upload their literature reviews in both .doc and .pdf formats.
Selection process: ● ●
The article will be evaluated by Pharmacy Education Coordinators and Regional Projects Officers from both organising regions. You will be evaluated on your ability to present the chosen topic, the respect of the theme, and your critical thinking.
