Call for volunteers at the Medicine Shortage Survey by FIP, WHO & IPSF Background: Medicine shortage put patients’ health at risk. The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), together with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) are inviting you to participate at the Medicine Shortage Survey. The survey is a part of research on what medicines are in shortage in pharmacies in different countries around the world. The study is the first of its kind and will help to gain understanding of common issues in medicine shortage. If you are interested to take part in this survey, please contact Ms Nuria Fernández Pérez at Nuria@fip.org. Each student participating in the project will receive a Letter of Recognition from FIP as an acknowledgement of their participation in this important project. Eligibility criteria for the volunteers: We are looking for 2 volunteer students/recent graduates per country member of IPSF with the following profile: - Good English skills - Internet connection - Ability to print the survey (around 7 pages) Expected task: The volunteer will be asked to interview 3 community pharmacies in his/her vicinity. The interview (filling out the questionnaire) will take approximately 30-60 minutes per pharmacy. The volunteer will then transfer the data from the questionnaire into an Excel sheet (approximately 15 minutes per survey). How to apply: All IPSF members are eligible to apply. The applicants will be responsible for printing the surveys. As part of the application, please submit: - A cover letter in support of the application (maximum 150 words) - Full name, city and country where you are going to perform the survey - 3 pharmacies (their addresses and names) you are willing to interview in September 2017 Please send an email to Ms Nuria Fernández Pérez, FIP Intern, at Nuria@fip.org no later than Thursday, 31 August 2017. Please use the subject line “FIP Medicine Shortage 2017”. The results of the volunteers’ selection will be announced to all candidates by mid-September 2017.
