Situated in the stunning surroundings of Christchurch Park, this tudor mansion boasts 500 years of history and is one of Suffolk’s most treasured buildings. the Mansion was built on the site of the holy trinity Priory in the 16th Century and passed through many hands over the years. In 1894 Felix Cobbold presented it to the town, meaning you now have the opportunity to explore this magnificent building.

this fascinating and unique museum gives you the opportunity to meet the famous woolly mammoth and go on a journey through Suffolk’s past. From the ancient egyptians to the romans, to the angloSaxons and the victorians, there is a lot to explore. the original museum was founded in 1846 before moving to the current building in 1882. the Museum has always promoted the arts and sciences.

Contemporary Chinese Works on Paper: A Review Saturday 28 April - Sunday 17 June this exhibition will show the largest selection of contemporary chinese works on paper outside of china. It explores the rich diversity of contemporary practice in chinese drawing, printing and painting on paper in the 21st century. chinese calligraphy developed during the han Dynasty of 206 Bc-220 aD, while traditional chinese painting followed soon after. Both techniques employ the same methods and are carried out with a brush dipped in black ink. today, artists work in a variety of inks, paint and printing techniques. with 72 artists and more than 100 artworks, visitors can explore a diverse range of pictures. curated by Zhang Xing, robert priseman and Marco cali.

Open Call 2018 Saturday 23 June - Sunday 23 September The Ipswich Art Society calls all artists to submit artwork to the annual Open Call exhibition. oils, watercolours, prints, drawings and sculptures can all be submitted. the exhibition will also celebrate more than 50 years of the anna airy award by displaying works by past winners. anna airy was one of the most distinguished painters of her generation and promoted chances for younger artists to exhibit work in galleries. Kiss and Tell: Rodin and Suffolk Sculpture Saturday 24 November 2018 – Sunday 28 April 2019 Auguste Rodin’s iconic life size marble sculpture, The Kiss, will be coming to Ipswich later this year on loan from the Tate collection. The 19th Century artwork is a significant piece in the history of sculpture. this major exhibition focuses on the story behind the Kiss. Who were the entwined lovers? how many versions did rodin create? Why was the sculpture covered up for so long? Discover the story of the sculpture and see what other images of love and devotion can be found in the Ipswich collections. Find out about the Suffolk sculptors who have been inspired by the Kiss. Don’t miss your chance to see this iconic masterpiece outside of London.
