JellyFish Bra Sports bra is indispensable to girls for exercising. It keeps basic features of bras, but develops advanced support and thermal comfort, which protects chests from the pain caused by movement better than normal bras. I designed a bra which can adjust its tightness accordingly.

More than a
Vending Machine Multisensory Experience Design Group project
More than a Vending Machine
Introduction Food choices greatly affect our daily lives, influencing our energy throughout the day and regulating our overall health. We design a food choice experience that supports people to make healthier choices by the influence of and interaction between multiple senses. Goal is implemented the characteristics of a joyful expression found in the previous research phase.
Meso level as Target Group For the implementation of the experience would occur at the cafeteria or canteen of a university. This means that it is aimed at students, teachers and staff that attend these places looking to have a meal.
More than a
Initial concepts Salad vending machine This can create playful and surprising interactions for people preparing their salads. The idea of the salad bar came from crossing the requirements of the project (encourage eating vegetables) and the joyful analysis (pick & mix).

Interactive “blind” smoothie machine
Salad helmet
An immersive experience wherpeople have to put their heads in a special container with different slots for different parts of their faces like the eyes, nose, ears and mouth; in order to trigger different senses.
A person has their head inside a transparent spherical container where the different ingredients of a salad are. The person then has to shake their head to mix the ingredients and eat them.
Pop-up store creating personal fruit perfume An interactive area that can include different activities and games revolving around the central theme of vegetables. One of these activities involves the creation of your own scent based on different fruit based smells.
More than a Final Concept Interactive screen Along screen going from the entrance to almost the payment screen is incorporated on the herb wall. This screen aims to functional as well as entraining. The screen can display visuals of the different ingredients available today in the vending machine: vegetables, proteins, toppings, etc. When the screen is touched, all pictures of the same ingredients group together with an audio feedback, and nutritional information regarding the ingredients are shown aside.
“Living” herb wall We concluded that natural smells and an atmosphere that is associated with freedom (e.g. being in nature) is often perceived as joyful, we decided to create such an atmosphere by introducing a living herb wall. The atmosphere is created on multiple sensory levels: visual, tactile and olfactory. Herbs are also a popular ingredient for salads, so it could increase positive anticipation of the salad eating, as well as being pleasant and not intrusive.
Final Concept
More than a
Geodesic dome/bubble We wanted something that would be remarkable as a joyful space, but also a green and environment friendly space. To do so, we crossed the idea of soap bubble that are transparent, round and colorful as much as light and natural, with the modern designed greenhouse with a wooden structure. The result offered wooden triangles to make it look like a greenhouse in which you can find good and self-made meal (instead of your own good self-grown vegetables).
Pick & mix salad carousel Instead of a classic vending machine or salad bar picking area, we wanted something that would allow the customer to be fully receptive to the interaction and especially the joyful experience. A spinning carousel could be easily integrated and fulfill the function of the core area. The spinning movement with the colorful dispensers to provide food while not making any effort for the customer is hopingly joyful.

Enter A geodesic dome with a semi transparent surface, which allows the people in the cafeteria to get an idea of what is inside of it and to grab the attention of people attending the cafeteria. An opening that serves as both the entrance and the exit of the dome.
Engage
Inside the dome there is a curved wall that provides a tactile experience with two different surfaces. One of these is an interactive screen that extends along the wall in a single stripe, where people can see the available ingredients for the day while they play with the elements displayed there. The rest of the wall is filled with herbs, that not only provide a different tactile interaction, but also fills the space with a distinct natural smell.
Before accessing the area where the vending machine is located, customers have to select and pay for their meal. They will reach a touch screen at the end of the line that will show the available options. Once the payment is done they only have to wait for the vending machine to be available to be used. This is located in a circular area that is separated by the inner curved wall. A light located by the entrance to this area will indicate when the next customer can go inside to use the vending machine. -
More than a Prototype & User Jouney Through a simple screen interaction (by sliding right & left) the rail of containers (dispensers) can move sideways until the desired ingredient is directly on top of the bowl, then the customer can press a colourful button to add a certain amount of the ingredient to their salad. Depending on their selection during payment, the system locks or unlocks certain options (protein, cutlery) and signals when the total amount of salad for the selected bowl size has been reached.
After selecting all the ingredients for their salad, the customer can access the bowl only with the ticket that was previously provided in the payment area, which is done to prevent any confusion with any other customers. After getting their salad, they can continue walking and reach the area through which they entered the dome.

Outside It’s time to eat, I’m getting hungry. I hear about this bubble experience. I’m going to try it ,it’s supposed to be funny and in this way I could eat healthy for onece. I find the big bubble space. It’s crowded, people are enthousiast and the line is moving not too slowly.
I wait in line, it’s a bit boring. To distract me, I’m trying to see what is inside the bubble. I see a screen, is it made to pay? How much would it be? Not too expansive I hope. I like the plants inside but I really wonder what is the big screen for.
In the bubble I’m entering the bubble, finally. The screen is interactive, and I can see what are the available ingredients today, it’s new and funny. The plants all around with the chirping sounds make me believe I’m in a garden by a sum- mer day. A healthy salad will be perfect.
Here is finally the payment display. There are a lot of options, I can make it fit my budget. Let’s no take proteins today, only veggetables but in a big bowl. I will eat there so I choose to have cutlery. I take and keep my receip as indicated.
I was quick on payment, I have to wait before entering the next area. The wall in the back turns green and I can go inside the core. I’m really interested in seeing what’s inside. I can see a screen and the food dispen- sers.

I stand in front of a screen. I touch it and now I can control the dispensers.
I’m done for selecting my veggetables. The protein dispenser was closed due to my previous choice.
I choose the first veggetable by pressing the big button.
My bowl is now moving towards the exit and I can now go out of this area as the screen is telling me.
By sliding on the screen, all the containers move! It’s a surprising and funny way to go next.
-
In the bubble I find the space in which my salad bowl and cutlery are. I’m asked to scan my receip. It opens the protected box with my meal. I can pick my stuff and leave the bubble.
I can see that while I exit the core, I’m still inside the bubble.

PROJECT
Interact with the Plants After learning about plants’ instincts for survival, I wondered whether I can design a device to communicate with plants so that I can utilize the information that is sensed by plants in the nature.
On my last trip, I encountered many kinds of plants that I never got a chance to learn about their instincts for survival. This surprised me, and I started to admire the wisdom of nature. Greater Khingan, Inner Mongolia
Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Guangzhou , Guangdong
Perhaps, plants do have five senses like human beings …
Impressively, white birch has many “eyes” on its trunk which seem to look at people soulfully. Actually, these “eyes” are lenticels that function as pores to enable direct changes between internal tissues and outside air. Otherwise, the bark is impermeable to gases.
When the trunk of pine is damaged, resinduct will secrete turpentine to solidify into a “patch” to fix the damaged area. Also, turpentine is volatile, which prevents insects from gathering around this seemingly tasty food. For some foraging insects, turpentine infuses into cavities in the trunk to block out the air from insects and thus kill these insects.

Electric Signals inside plant Stimulation
When the plant is stimulated by surroundings, it will form electrical pulses inside itself.
Concept Generation Combining the special communication methods of plants and people’s demands in daily life, I come up with several concepts of my installation whose functions are not practicable now but can be used in the future.
Earthquake
Other stimulation Plants can react to light, temprature, vibration etc.
PM 2.5 & Formaldehyde
Before earthquake occurs, things like geomagnetic fields and temperature will change inside the earth. Plants’ roots can feel them.
Plants are more sensitive to the change of surroundings than people. They can change the color of leaves in the environment with high level of formaldehyde and absorb find particulate matters in the air..
Infestation & Infection Stimulation
When plants are infested with pests, they communicate with surrounding plants by releasing special compounds both in the air and soil.

Installation model Needle electrodes detect potential changes generating electrical signals. Then, these signals are passed to the single chip microcomputer (SCM). After SCM processes these signals, they will be delivered to holographic projection system that shows stable waves in the soft environment. If any unusual signal is delivered, the holographic projection system will project the change according to the actual situation, and audio system will be triggered.

Light-brary
Light-brary, an online library design, is an app aiming at fulfilling the needs of study in daily life.
Dormitory, library, cafe and study rooms are common places for study. But do you know their pros and cons?
I can never concentrate on my study in my room. Where do you usually study?
I like to studying in library. But it is hard to get a seat especially during finals.
If we could book seats online, it would be more convenient. And in that case, students won’t have to get early to hold a seat.

I regarded the city as the forest, no matter where I am in, I would like to enjoy myself as different individuality. I could be mild or wild, free or serious that I can play different role in the city like various animal in the forest. Just be myself, and enjoy the self-exploring process. This is a fashion project to explore ourselves in the city or in the forest. I designed and sewed them by myself , and I invited my friend as the model and took the pictures for them realizing my little dream of a fashion photographer.
