Located on the 4th floor of a multi-story building at 116 East 16th Street, this commercial project focuses on elaborating the services, amenities, target market, and branding strategies for the new and emerging technology, represented by a Swedish company “Green Fortune”. The design concept aims to create a space that will induce the five senses: touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound. Each of the designed areas will demonstrate the main functions of Green Fortune products, all while establishing a connection between nature and the built environment. As a result of this project, a financially sustainable business model will be developed along with sustainability, specifically related to design codes, industry regulations, and guidelines.

“Green Fortune”

Green Technology Center Union Square, NY

PERSPECTIVE VIEW Workspace

Green Fortune is a Swedish based company that strives to educate about the importance of plant and cultivation and aims to reverse the decline in that field due to urbanisation. Their goal is based on a vision called Urban Cultivation, describing a future where plants and cultivation has become a much more integrated part of modern urban life. Green Fortunes products and projects are extracted from this vision. They are just plants, but plants adapted to modern urban circumstances.

Design Statement To create a space that will stimulate the five senses: touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound. Each of the designed areas will redeem the main functions of Green Fortune products, and establish a connection between nature and the built environment.

Oceana HQ for a Non-Profit Institution LES, NY

Located at 465 Grand Street in the culturally rich and historically colorful Lower East Side of Manhattan, this flexible commercial facility provides for administration, exhibitions, meetings, conferences, a lounge for members, a library, a gift/ book shop as well as an apartment for out-of-town guest lecturers. The ultimate goal of this project is to develop an appropriate design in reference to Oceana's mission, along with creating a compelling interior that speaks to organization’s ambitions.

Design Statement To celebrate the grandiosity of icebergs by creating an immersive experience within the space. A unique giant glass structure embodies a floating iceberg, while each floor symbolizes ocean and mimics its depth through a gradual distribution of a blue hue from the bottom to top levels. The roof level is designed as an arctic maze and symbolizes the tip of the iceberg. The ultimate goal of the facility is to raise awareness of iceberg melting and climate change.

PERSPECTIVE VIEW 2nd Floor

To resemble the upper ocean layers a muted, light-blue color palette was selected for the building's second floor. The high-gloss surfaces amplify reflections from the glass iceberg structure and visually immerse visitors into the underwater world.

PERSPECTIVE VIEW Members Cafe

The double-height ceiling provides the facility with ample space and striking natural light. The dark blue theme symbolizes deep ocean waters, while the white flooring imitates the sand bottom. A floor-to-ceiling partition partially separates but does not fully enclose the members’ lounge from the public waiting area. Such design intent reinforces the idea of flowing space.

“BY LAND

AND SEA” Argentine Consular Residence UES, NY This residential project focuses on the planning and design of an official consular residence for an Argentine government’s ambassador to the United Nations, located at 182 East 64th Street. The program is to design a comprehensive facility for formal receptions, the consul’s family accommodations, service and support functions, and accommodations for visiting dignitaries, personal friends, and family. The client was born and raised in Argentina. The Institut National d’Histoire l’Art history major alumni, she is an art historian and curator, who pursues a continuing education at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She will be living in the designed residence along with her handicap husband, a writer and bibliographer, and their teenage kids. A husband’s aide will reside along with the family.

Design Statement The name “By Land and Sea” implements major inspirations of the project - Perito Moreno Glacier (sea), Iguazu Falls (sea), Mendoza Valley (land)- and, substantially, is a historical reference to the means of traveling during the early years of immigration to Argentina. The design goal of the project was to inhibit the space with elements and solutions that would subtly recreate the country’s landscapes. Both front and rear facades, as well as the garden were redesigned. The residence program was designed to include the following: 5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, 3 offices, a private kitchen, 2 dining areas, 2 living rooms, a pool, spa, gym, entertainment area, which includes a home theater and a billiard room, Approximately 7500 sq. ft in total, with additional 20% for circulation.

NOTE: All bathrooms and clearances are ADA compliant.

The design of the room is directly connected to Avant-Garde, which played a huge role in Argentine art culture. The two Avant-Garde movements completely evolved the art in Argentina and gave birth to a variety of styles such as new figurativism, new surrealism, hyperrealism, new abstract art, kinetic art and futucubism - a symbiose of futurism and cubism. These styles dominate the art world of today’s Argentina. To reflect that in the design, the space was filled with intricate geometry, reflective surfaces, and hard materials.

PERSPECTIVE VIEW Pool Inspired by Perito Moreno Glacier, this bespoke sculptural wall by Argentine sculptor Juan Pablo Marturano is a statement piece for the residence’s basement floor. The grandiosity of the unique UNESCO site is mimicked in this design proposal. The pool is designed according to ADA guidelines to accommodate the needs of the consul’s husband.

“The Meridian” Hotel Pennsylvania Performing Arts Center

Chelsea, NY This hospitality project aims to design a Performing Arts Center on the main floor of Hotel Pennsylvania. The program focuses on incorporating spaces for learning, experiencing, researching, and performing multicultural music and dance genres.

Design Statement This project is focused on designing the performing arts center located on the main floor of Hotel Pennsylvania. The meridian lines are representative of the interconnections between communities with an intent to make performing arts accessible. REFLECTED CEILING PLAN The focal point of the reception area is a custom-made architectural lighting fixture, which imitates the world grid (see bottom left perspective view) and responds to the concept of meridian lines. The linear light continues into the hallways to serve as a wayfinding solution that guides visitors.

Located on the second floor of The Meridian, the cafe is open to the public at all hours. As opposed to the private bar (see top right and bottom left perspective views), it carries a more casual atmosphere in its design aesthetics. The primary material of the space is wood, which, along with the subtle lighting, brings in warmth and a calm ambiance.

“SOI

/

ree”

Retail Shoe Store for MACY’S, NY

The store offers mid-range shoes that imitate luxury designer brands, giving its clients an opportunity to own an expensive looking, trendy pair without hurting one’s budget. The primary client is a young fashionista, and socialista who loves attention, abundantly uses social media, and can be described as an influencer, or a blogger who religiously follows fashion trends. The design concept is modeled around the idea of a fashion show where the shopper is both a vip guest and the main character.

“1780 SHEEPSHEAD BAY RD ” Modern Workspace in Brooklyn, NY

Upon client’s request, this 1200 sq. ft office space was designed to deviate from a conventional office design. Instead of a dull workspace environment, creating a comfortable, home-like atmosphere was the primary goal of this project. Inspired by trending wabi-sabi aesthetics, the final design looks minimalistic and modern. The abundance of wood adds some warmth and compliments concrete surfaces. The space accommodates 8-10 desks, an executive office, a waiting area, and a small kitchenette.

“Scissor HandZ” Barber Shop in Hell’s Kitchen, NY Another modern-looking project this time located in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen. Similar to the office project, the client envisioned his workspace radiating a welcoming atmosphere. Minimalistic with rustic elements, this barber shop is a juxtaposition of two epochs: contemporary and the 1920s.

“A SONG TO THE SUN” Lighting Fixture Design Project This lighting fixture was designed for a japanese-french chief Keisuke Yamagishi. A native of Japan, chef Yamagishi has been fascinated by the wealth of French cuisine since childhood. In 2013, he opened a One Michelin star restaurant “Etude”. A delicate act between his French and Japanese heritage, his set menus named “Symphonie”, “Ballade” or “Prelude” pay homage to Chopin, each a beautiful lesson in harmony.

The fixture's design consists of three elements: acrylic tubes which imitate the music scale, an LED Sphere Lamp that mimics the Japanese flag Sun symbol, and a glow stick shaped as a music note, which connects the two elements.

“FXLB x EDWARD ACOSTA” Collaborative project with FXLB “AWAKEN” capsule collection is a collaborative project between FXLB and artist Edward Acosta. Acosta’s art is the use of both light, and dark tones. Bold lines serve as a juxtaposition of a peaceful dream-like state and a vivid color, representing action and presence in the moment. The main goal was to translate the collection’s philosophy into a 3D space. The colorful stripes were transformed into a podium, while the contrasting black and white colors create a mysterious atmosphere.

COLLABORATION WITH FXLB NEW YORK ‘ETERNAL BEAUTY’ is a capsule collection by FXLB that focuses on the upcycling concept and conscious use of resources. As a part of a virtual FXLB museum, this interactive space was designed to embody the idea of timeless beauty.

PORTFOLIO

The idea of an enchanted garden is one of the main inspirations behind the design. It also masterfully addresses the sustainable aspect of this collection. The dresses are displayed inside glass tubes as a symbol of eternal beauty, preserved in a time capsule. The walls are decorated with mirrors, which creates an intricate space and further extends the idea of infinite beauty.
