For the Time Being
by Irene Nelson 2016
“For the Time Being continues my fascination with the process of thoroughly revealing images. With this series, I became seduced by a small temporary construction on a busy San Francisco downtown corner. A gate wire and a translucent curtain provided an array of intimate light and shadow patterns. The abstractions have an organic and sensual feel that lend themselves well to the collotype process.
Talking with C
who may already be late
on the corner of the busy street
across from the upscale department store
Sharing a hurt
careful with our words
aware of the clock
the diverse crowd
waiting for the light to turn
space for both the loss
a most dear one
and a birth in our family
