OCEANARIUM Sheik irfaan mustun Taylors University BIA Semester 06 AIDP 1
INTRODUCTION The ocean, a beauty of nature’s mechanism, it governs the weather, clean the air, help feed the world to state only few examples among much more. Today, the ocean is converging to a very risky dead end because of human beings’ activities, pollution and commercial fishing are ravaging the blue engine of Earth. Oceanarium aims to voice out about the issues related to the ocean, in a city lifestyle, hecticness blind people from being conscious about issues which seem so distant. The idea is to bring a community around an activity, which here is fishing, to bring them to a point where they will be more conscious about the ocean issues. Bringing a gamification spirit to the space to make the interaction more interesting and at the same time use it as an awareness campaign. Developing a series of programs which is going to directly and indirectly help relieve the ocean from the anthropogenic stress human being put on it,
Level 1 Site interpretation
The following models series explored the solving of the issues in a confrontation scenario. A scene of opposition of good against bad to reinforce the issue significance
The model explored the absurdity of man actions towards the ocean and at the same time set the issues oceanarium will tackle
The series also help explore mechanisms that can be introduce as an experience in the space

As an interior design student, I always look forward to help in solving issues through design. The ocean’s issue is very important to tackle and is something that needs to be brought forward more to bring awareness so that people can take actions. The first phase of this project was very interesting to explore, the design language and tangible design is on the right track for the phase 2. However, I look forward to explore more about the users experience in the space in phase 2 and detail the interior to suit that experience. I feel that this phase 1 can still be brought to a different level so that the users experience and the design intention is reached. I feel like the ocean ‘spirit’ needs to be more engraved in the space through tangible and intangible design.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Vickram
