RUGBY LEAGUE IN RUSSIA Rugby League has been played in Russia since 1991. The domestic competition is divided into three conferences: North (St Petersburg region), Centre (Moscow region and South (Rostov-onDon region). The number of registered players, coaches and officials are increasing each year. The Association of Rugby League Clubs is the governing body of the sport, and has full membership of the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) and the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF). Russia competes in the European Championship B.
