Cody Preisler and Juhaan Johar knew there was something special when they connected on Bumble in 2017. After a seven-hour first date of talking and brewery-hopping in Minneapolis’ North Loop, it was obvious this was to be the first of many outings. After two magical years together, Cody proposed on the beaches of Juhaan’s hometown in Sri Lanka during the golden hour. “We were lucky to have our family and friends there to capture the moment and celebrate with us,” Cody said. Their early spring wedding—delayed several times because of COVID—started with brunch and a party bus stopping at picture-perfect spots around Minneapolis for photo ops. Lush greenery and hints of dusty blue transformed the venue, while eucalyptus, white roses and ferns with accents of baby’s breath created an elegant display in the bouquets, boutonnieres and ceremony arch. Cody and Juhaan’s brothers gave heartfelt speeches and helped introduce both sides of the family to each other. The night ended with a packed dance floor (including Cody’s grandma tearing it up!) with the DJ playing hits from the ’80s and ’90s and popular Bollywood songs.
