IRSC Military and Veterans Services provides dedicated services to all active-duty personnel, reservists, members of the National Guard, veterans and qualified dependents. IRSC understands the intricate and unique issues our military and veteran students face.

Services • Ensuring that eligible and prospective military-affiliated students are informed about their benefits, available services and resources—both on and off-campus • Being a voice and advocating for all military personnel and veterans, and their dependents and spouses • Providing and promoting a veteran-friendly campus through deliberate collaboration with other departments • Answering questions as accurately as possible • Assisting with resources towards the completion of a course of study in a timely manner • Referring students to the appropriate IRSC department as needed • Assisting with exploring skills, interests, and life and career goals • Providing a guided pathway to graduation Training Credit At Indian River State College, students who have been in the military may be awarded credit by one or more of the following methods: Transfer Credits—Students may be awarded credit through direct evaluation of transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges attended while in the military (e.g., Community College of the Air Force or Central Texas College). Official school transcripts are required. Credit for Military Experience—IRSC evaluates credits based on the coursework that applies directly to the student's IRSC degree program, usually an Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree field. Examples of credit awarded are in the computer science and electronics fields if pursuing an A.S. Degree in those fields. Veterans may request an official military transcript from Joint Services Transcript (JST). Competency Credit—Competency credit may be awarded in certain areas such as criminal justice or health science based on standards approved by that department's dean.
