RTTP-RETURN TO PLAY The definition of RTTP is 'Return to play'. Due to the pandemic, there are many educational institutes have been closed for 2 years for people's safety to avoid the Covid-19 virus. It brings a lot of effect on society, especially on kids in kindergarten between the ages of 4-6 years old. The purpose of this design is, to build a playground for users(kids) while also having a connection to Urban Farming, and also welcoming kids to back school when the educational institution is allowed to operate. it is also to improve the curiosity of users(kids) and provide a sample of teaching Urban Farming system knowledge to kids. Therefore, we are going to assemble the RRTP Playground in January of 2022.

Our group 06 won 2nd Place in the Modular Cube Design Competition organized by Community Architecture 2021 X Furniture Workshop.

DESCRIPTION:

Strategically located within a quaint and guarded residential area, R.E.A.L Kids Taman Cuepacs offers convenient access to parents with three different entry way to the center. The center comprises of two bungalow lots which ensure ample space for outdoor facilities such as a play area, canteen and culinary corner, as well as indoor facilities such as a music room and library.

DESIGN INTENTION

The design intention of the structure is to allow kids to have a area to have fun that is related to urban farming. This will be a structure to allow kids to develop their physical health. They can have a rest, reading, or store their belongings at the modular cube design. The design is focus to let children observe and better understand about urban farming system.

Outdoor playground

- RTTP can serve as an amusement equipment where children can play together with other facilities. Or even serve as a bench for them to rest.

- RTTP can act as a benches for children to sit and prepare before/after swimming,

ERGONOMIC OF KIDS AT AGE 4-6 YEARS OLD

Encourage children to sit with proper body posture. Keep their feet on the floor, with thighs fully supported on the chair. Knees, hips and elbows should be at 90 to 100-degree angles.

What we have done???

Pouring sand on the ground so children won’t get hurt from falling. Installing safety rubber at the top edges to protect from head injury.

2 Description Specifications

Climbing structures that are appropriate for children usability to enable them to reach greater heights, climb higher, and discover the magic of the outdoors.

Combining the harvesting system as part of the structure to the design. Children can observe the system for the plant when they climb much higher up the system. Climbing on our outdoor playground structure allow kids to enjoy themselves while still being safe.

2 Description Specifications

This mini-library is for children between the ages of 4-6. The purpose of this mini-library is to bring joyfulness and curiosity to users. A mini library that allow kids to read, sit and have a fun time there.

This design is a combination of joy, peaceful, and bright. By combining all of the phenomenal idea we could think of. We come produce our RTTP. We have some cube for playing and planting for kid to connect to urban farming, also a place for kid to sit down and studies.

MATERIALS:

1. Waterproof polymer layer - to funnel down water from the top of the tower to the PVC pipes inside for the plants.

2. Bird water feeder - plastic container which will collect rain water for birds to drink

3. Steel square mesh - to contain soil inside the box and to plant vertically

JOINERIES:

Mitered Butt Joint

Mitered Butt joints are used to create a neat rectangular corner with no visible wood grain. It is located at sand box.

Screwed Butt Joints

It is also called Dowel Joints or Biscuit Joints, which is to make cubes stronger that can be reinforced with dowels for biscuits. It is used for making cubes.
