The Vision The APW in 2015 will be the starting point for an all new experience: before, at, after and in between upcoming Asia Pacific Weeks. It is more than a platform for starting sustainable relationships between Asia Pacific and Germany. It is a living community of experts that collaboratively will foster knowledge and projects.

State of the art social media technology bridges time and space: The APW Conference Book brings experts around the world together. It is a tool to find the right business-match, stay in touch, meet up and share experiences and knowledge. The starting point for successful relationships, that last!

Why do I have to spend more time registering for the APW than for networking?

What our Users say “Time is the most valuble resource” “I go there because I want to meet experts” “Registration kills me everytime”

“I got five confirmation emails from all kinds of APW partners.” “Meeting the right people at a conference is very hard”

Intro Bringing coherence to a diverse conference isn’t easy. It starts with an unified registration process. Participants want the right information at the right time. They do not want to spent time scrolling through irrelevant information. Meeting relevant experts is their main focus!

The Idea 1. Predefined information for invitees makes registration really fast. Time: a critical issue. Forecasting and visualizing how much time the registration will take is essential. 2. Defining your personal profile for finding the right information is really easy. Import existing data from e.g. xing or linked.in Benefit: Data is sensible. By offering benefits like matchmaking, relevant experts and events to your interests, people are willing to give out information. The profile gives you the opportunity to contact relevant experts before the conference and schedule meetings by checking their schedule. 3. Using your unique profile the tool helps you to find relevant workshops and experts. Right Information: People want the right information for their needs. You can now plan your conference by adding workshops to your calender and see what others attend

The Insights • Registration has to be a time saver. Predefined informational makes the registration fast. • Every login is a barrier. Therefore it is possible to syncronize with twitter, linkedin etc profiles for a even faster registration. • Every participant is an expert. Why not use and share the knowledge of each other? The matchmaking makes it possible to find relevant experts/participant before the APW, who will meet up at the conference.

• People are willing to invest time on creating a profile, if they will get an instant benefit. Here the benefit is the matchmaking of experts and relevant events, one single registration with few clicks and the access to the Conference Book. • People want to choose when and where to meet up: We show relevant matches and the participant check out the schedules of each other and meet up without anyone telling who to meet where and when.

Registration and Matchmaking

What was that moment that made me think? Who was this guy asking the great questions?

What our Users say “It is hard to retell my “It is only afterwards that I realize favorite moments” something was “Being at a conference important” is managing information overflow”

Intro Let’s face it. It is always a hustle to take notes at conferences. You start realizing ”this is really important” but the moment is already gone and by trying to take notes you miss even more. Furthermore, finding out who relevant people are and where this guy with this great questions is now and whom he works for is tricky. And after the conference you have houndreds of businesscards and can’t remember who these are from.

The Idea APW Conference Book Find out who is attending a workshop. Scroll through profiles and write messages to each other. Schedule meetings at or after the conference. Zeitkapsel Capture your personal highlights in talks, keynotes and workshops. Whenever you feel something important is happening on stage, press the buzzer. The tool than will save a video recording of not only what is going on now, but also the last 10s of the past. Access these bookmarks later in your profile in the APW Conference Book is realy easy. Meeting Moments Manage your collected businesscards by scanning your partners QR Code and instantly get connected on the Conference Book with the time and place you met. Also add anectodes that help you remembering, if you whish!

The Insights • Informationoverload: a synonym for a conference. The tools for capturing your highlights will make it easier to filter what is essential to you. • Direct response for buzzing: People better understand when the buzzer is on and off, if the buzzer vibrates, lightens up or makes a sound while recording.

• People collect lots of businesscards during a conference and cannot remember who these where from afterwards. Connecting the businesscards to the particular meeting situation makes it easier to remember the person you met, what you talked about etc

Capture your Highlights

Why is taking notes such a pain? Why is there no documentation?

What our Users say “Why is there no documentation?” “I need storries that I can tell my boss.”

“I take notes, but honestly i never look at them again”

Intro Documentation is a lot of work. The fewest of the participants look at their notes again. Personal documentation is more relevant than a documentation booklet.

The Idea APW Conference Book — Your highlights Log into your profile. There is a highlight section. You will find all the highlights you buzzerd as well as powerpoint slides and your own notes to the individual hightligts, as the combination of media will make it more personalized and easier to remember why you pressed the buzzer. APW Conference Book — Your networks See a list of people you have met, when and where. Access others profiles and get in contact.

The Insights • Need for something tangible after the conference • Watching the recorded buzzermoments only won’t give you an additional value, but rather let you think “Why did I buzzer, why was that important?” Therefore different media have to be connected on your documentation; your buzzer-moment as a video, own notes/comments, matching powerpoint slides and the corresponding part of the talk in a transliterated version.

Documentation

Why does it have to end? How and where am I supposed to drink that much tea with Asians?

What our Users say “Where is the list of all the participants? - It used to be online. How am I supposed to find these guys contact now?”

“Establishing relationships requires time and drinking a lot of tea!”

Intro Having a conference every two years is not enough for the participants. They want access to relevant experts in between the conferences as well. Having meetings at the conference is hard, because everyone is bussy. Being able to schedule a meeting after the conference via video chat would solve that problem.

The Idea APW Conference Book • Stay in contact to the experts you have met during the APW. • Build up trust by being in contact. • Get reminders where you met whom. • Search for interesting contacts. • Be involved and start a virtual discussion group. Furthermore, the organizer of the APW can now use all the collected data for optimizing the next conference.

The Insights Eyelevel over cultural differences Cooperation needs a lot of time. This ongoing platform gives the participants a tool for keeping in touch or even though business stalking to find the ones, you wanted to talk to during the conference but didn’t.

In general people don’t give enough feedback after a conference, which makes it hard to improve. Though, the personalized documentation means at the same time a feedback-system for the organizer of the APW.
