Ji Li is a Cheater and is Evil Ji Li Jiang is a regular girl, but what makes her evil is her class status and the fact that she always gets perfect scores on her examinations. She lives in a black status family who will not be respected. In addition, she loves school and her teachers which will not be tolerated because teachers may teach her the wrong things about chairman Mao. She cannot deny that her grandfather was a landlord who exploited his employees. I just think of her as a counterrevolutionary, and an evil person that does not respect chairman Mao, she disgusts me.

Diary of Ji-yong June 21, 1966, I am Ji-yong, the brother of Jiang Ji Li and Ji-yun. Today, the cultural revolution is ruining the lives of me and my family. We are slowly falling apart. My mother and grandmother have thoughts of suicide, but I am strong. The other day I had my favorite army that stolen, and I was furious, I had never had anything stolen from me. I was determined to get my hat back, and I was not going to stop until I got it. At the end I came back home beat up and tired, but it was all worth it because I got my hat back.. These incidents are the kinds of things that pull my family apart because I was gone the whole day trying to get my that back, and my mother was worried sick about me, but I did not care because I just wanted my hat back.. January 12, 1967, Our house has been recently ransacked, I was not afraid of the red guards. They took my sister’s stamp collection and they called her a black whelp, at that point, I felt like attacking them and taking back the book. I was so mad at those evil red guards, and I was especially mad at thin face for leaving the house with nothing. We did not even have a place to sleep, we had to sleep on the floor. August 25, 1968, Our house has been ransacked again. This time, they took the letter that my mother wrote and they slapped my grandmother and made her kneel down on the floor, knowing that she is 70 years old. Those savages, don’t they have a family to take care of, and other people to see? They don’t understand all the pain that we have gone through during the cultural revolution.]
About the Author My name is Isabella Garcia, and I was born January 21, 2002. I love doing sports and staying active, and I also enjoy making short books like this one. I currently go to Gulliver Academy, and I am in seventh grade. This book affected me because I realized how safe our country is for not having to go through something like the cultural revolution. I also learned that even through tough times like the cultural revolution, you always have to stay positive no matter what the situation. Just because something bad is happening in your country, it does not mean you have to be sad all the time until it gets resolved. You have to stay positive and look for a solution.
