FURNITURE DESIGN
FURNITURE DESIGN
MATERIAL : WOOD
PROTOTYPE
Furniture Design was focused on learning about the basic proportion and ergonomics of a chair along with a thorough understanding of assembly of the parts, of a chair. Duplicating an existing chair helped us understand a great deal of material behaviour along with the joinery and possibilities of that material. Half semester was given to making while the other half was given to design a comfortable office chair entirely in wood and also detail out the making and assembly of those chairs.

FURNITURE DESIGN
Furniture Design intended to explore metal as a material and how it goes along with other materials. Design brief for this semester was to design a display piece for a showroom of HUSH PUPPIES, Ahmedabad, while understanding the brand identity and the space in the showroom. Material board and Mood boards were made to rationalise the decisions made and get a clear vision as about the brand and the furniture element. The joinery detail and expression were given a huge importance when working with metal. The neater the joint, better the expression is the motto that was followed.
