The Aviator inspired from aeronautics is a masterpiece of architecture, having the principles of aerodynamics in its form along with an inspiration from palm leaves resembling the essence of Radiolaria. The building has a sense of fluidity along with functioning as an ecological machine. The form is wrapped with spikes inspired from Radiolaria and palm leaves which help in temperature control of the building. They act as wind catchers that help to deliver ample amount of fresh air to our prototype by creating an air pocket with the wrapped prototype.

AGE OF AEROSPACE THE SPIRIT OF TIME.
In the 21st century, we are surrounded by the world of technology whileour world is developing at a very fast pace. Technology has eventually lowered man’s physical need of work. Under these advancing times one creation that seems out to be the game changer for mankind is the advancement in the field of Aviation. After the Wright brothers first invented aircraft, they were restricted by the technology of there time. But today Aviation is a major pier in supporting the functioning of our world. They play a major role in whether it is transportation, travelling, defence, research, etc. It constantly helps us to leap our boundaries and helps the mankind in testing our limits. This clearly helps us define the current age i.e. The Age of Aerospace under which our project leads by the name of “Aviator”. The project is an Institutional typology , a research centre facility in aeronautical studies, offering BSA (Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics). Our facility houses high and advanced laboratories and studios with excellent faculty having an experience of over 20 years. The centre provides an overall student personality development with extra curriculum activities.
The Aviator is located along the stretch of Golf course road, starting from sikanderpur metro station to AIT Chowk. The site has amazing characteristics which eventually boosts up the existence of the building. It has Aravalli facing at one side and an open ground on the other side. This eventually helps in performing various air-borne activities providing huge number of vacant spaces. Also, the building faces the Golf course country club at on end giving it a beautiful luxurious view. Aviator has a physical access from a secondary road artery and is located at a quiet and Porsche area, away from the busy roads.

RADIOL ARIA INVESTIGATING RADIOLARIA AS A STRUCTURAL SYSTEM.
The Aviator is based upon the idea of a structural system that follows the principles of an ecological organism called Radiolaria found in the ocean. Radiolaria is a perfect example of a living natural structural system. It has a nucleus in the centre whose shape keeps on changing every minute. Further the nucleus is protected by a double layered silicon skeleton system formed out of hexagons which is the most stable structural shape. The organism has spikes coming out of its skeleton which provides a third protective layer and helps Radiolaria to maintain its shape in the ocean and provides a firm grip as a structural system.
Contains a central capsule which defines intracapsular and extracapsular regions. Their siliceous skeletons consist of connected arrays of tubular struts forming a great variety of shells, often with a hexagonal structuring on their surfaces. Radiolaria can range from 30 microns to 2 mm in diameter and are often spherical. They are unicellular creatures whose skeleton is covered with cytoplasm, which is withdrawn if the organism is disturbed. They have solid spines with a narrow internal canal. Another inspiration aspect of our project is based on the structural characteristics of a palm leaf. The tentacles of the palm leaf resembles very much with the spike form of Radiolaria, which is a very good example of things co-exist in nature. These palm leave helped us to ecologically morph our form and have been a major part in our form extraction, which is represented using the crown shaped spikes around the building.

Handmade Prototypical Model
Digital Prototypical Model This prototype was inspired from the spiky nature of Radiolaria. A single unit is formed of a hexagon, forming a hollow tubular unit. The hexagon head coming out help the unit maintain it shape and structure. It is after this a single unit is tessellated and forms a set of prototypical assembly, that has hol-
PROTOTYPE 0.3
PROTOTYPE 0.2
This prototype very well represents the structural integrity of a Radiolaria. The central patch of it denotes the constantly changing nuclei form. While the tensile arms represent the supporting hexagonal chain. This chain helps the prototype maintain its shape at all times. The idea was to use the hexagonal form in a peculiar way, so there are two offsets of hexagon which eventually stabalizes the prototype.
Handmade Prototypical Model This prototype acts as self stabalised structural system. Each single unit assembles to form a irregular hexagon, these single unit locks themselves with each other and eventually form a stable form whose shadow when casted represents its true Radiolarian nature. MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY
DEMONSTRATING THE MECHANICAL FUNCTIONING OF THE PROTOTYPE. The mechanical assembly determines the actual scale of our prototype. The true size that can be ecologically wrapped upon our aviator. Here the steel protype has a size of 600 x 600 while a single triangle unit has a peculiar size. The main physical prototypical assembly has been made up of gas welded steel, along with a coating of nitrile rubber inside. While the wooden prototype overhangs with the help of a hexagonal steel bracket wrapped around the prototype belly and screwed.
[TEXT ]
The 3d printing helped to imagine the prototype in its true form. It helped us in terms of physicality of our prototype. One is a direct combination of singular hexagonal unit while the other is contains a tubular bracing between one single unit.
ECOLOGICAL FUNCTIONING.
DEMONSTRATING THE ECOLOGICAL PERFORMANCE OF THE PROTOTYPE.
The MLI i.e., multi layered insulation helps in temperature control of the Aviator. These foils are wrapped upon our wooden prototype that overhangs on the steel part. Also, the steel prototype has tubular spaces in which ammonia cooling system is integrated which provides cool and fresh air in the interiors of the building. Hot air travels from the outside, then runs through the ammonia coiling in the prototype and supplies cool air inside. These steel unit when combined form a squarish space in between where algae panels have been installed, whose piping and mechanism run in the steel prototype. Algae panels clean the air and also produce biomass fuel. AMMONIA COOLANT.

EXPLODED ITERATION OF MASSING- COMBINATION OF HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL TRATIFICATION ACCORDING TO FUNCTIONS AND SUBFUNCTIONS.
MASSING. The programmatic massing is a combination of vertical and horizontal stratification. Since the primary spaces are the revenue generation source of our building, they have been located at the upper levels so that they have the highest advantage of our site tangibles such as exposure to Aravalli, Golf course country club and vacant spaces for programmes that require certain drone or flying activities. While the core constantly travels through all
MASSING.
INCLUSION OF SITE PARAMETERS.
The programmatic model when placed on site, is further morphed according to the existing site parameters. The existing site parameters such as, visual access, physical access, microclimate play a major role in morphing the model in order to help us derive our Aviator’s form.
The existing site parameters act as cutting planes and accordingly splits our massing model from that direction. The black box represents the site morphing box while the blue box depicts the form morphing box.

The morphed programmatic model has now been draped to obtain final form. The draped form has now been twisted, champhered, stretched in multiple direction and ways in order to reached out to an outcome that is inspired from various ecological and programmatic aspects. The resulted form was based on a dominating concept of aerodynamics principles, having a sloped elevation giving a sense of wind flow and streamlined movement.
Further based on the principles of Radiolaria and palm leaves the resulted form was morphed with an ecological layering. The crown shaped bars were much of a representation of spikes of Radiolaria and leaves of palm cohesively behave as a structural system.

FORM AND FLOOR PLATE GENERATION.
Derivation of the floor plates resulted in G+4 floors each floor at a clear height of 4200mm. Now there is a catch here, that each of our floors is constantly changing its position and it rotates at every point. The floors also have a peculiar shape breaking the monotony of a simple rectangular floor plate. They also seem out to look like an organism with scales sitting on the ground and emerged from the soil.

As an escape from the everyday hustle and bustle, a peaceful and tranquil space is designed for the user whose geometry resembles dual ideas. The idea of the five facades derived from the name of the city panchnula, which is famous for its five canals. The user reminisces his childhood in the village of ramgarh. And this thought is considered as the plan of ramgarh is projected into the building’s pentagonal geometry, visual transparency to let the user deep dive into the green surroundings is provided at its best. The most fulfilling part being the entry of the light into the basement through the linear series of windows lined in the floor, using natural daylight to its best.
The terrace provides an avant-garde form, unusual for a rooftop in the current scenario. When people are residing into the most private homes, opaque to the core; this one is a fresh, unorthodox and unfamiliar approach for a writer’s home with a lot of potential. It is believed to stand out in the future years as well as allowing a relaxed and open mind to focus on work, sitting in the subtle tones of the house. It becomes the perfect balance to work-life in the future years as it evolves the best atmosphere for the writer to develop a great play of words in literature. Overall, enhancing the aura with the best of aesthetics and its vast array of functions, it disrupts of what a home could be, makes what a home can be.

DISSERTATION | Establishing Identity of a City Through Existence Of Duality | i n s i g h t
The paper questions this existence of duality and how it establishes the identity of a city through various secondary case studies. Further with a primary study of complex case example of Gurgaon, the paper adds on another perspective to the temporal and permanent attributes of a city. It examines the altering identity of Gurgaon from the past decade to the current scenario. Furthermore, the study looks into the future scope of the identity that Gurugram will have in the upcoming decade as its constantly going through a stage of transition. Analysing its drastic change due to the duality the city’s time – space – people – activity – context - infratructure - culture have, the paper also examines the creative potential of these aspects that give the city an identity as they are dual in nature when intersected with each other.
