During my internship at The Architect’s Office (TAO), Mumbai, I nurtured my designing skills and also learned how to make a concept pitch. After getting exposure to various projects of residential and hospitality domain, I decided to pursue my career in International Masters in Interior Architecture & Design (IMIAD) at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. IMIAD helped me research, comprehend, strategize, innovate and collaborate through effective management of design conceptualization & execution. The exchange semester in February, 2015 in Turkey lead me to draw parallels between Interior Architecture and Technology in India & Europe; this lead me to my research topic of Impact of Mechanization on Craft practices demonstrating on Stone Crafts in Jain Temples of Gujarat. International exposure helped me gain an insight into European designing & working habits which taught me to be flexible & crude. In August 2015, my Generative Design Project was selected to be built into an installation in the university campus & was showcased at Vibrant Gujarat, 2015. I worked closely with material experts, vendors, engineers & carpenters to execute the complex textile model into a German Teflon Parametric Shading device. I chose to study the mechanism of urban canals during the winter school in Bangkok called “Chasing the Khlongs”. The study helped me decode the methods of urban planning, landscape, built forms and land use which I can inculcate in comparatively analyzing urban functions and scales. To take my Research into deeper understanding of stone & its implications, I worked closely with Kiran Trivedi founder of Kiran Trivedi Groups who brought Stone mechanization in India. I got hands-on experience on prefabrication of stone & its limitations where I learned to design a product based on its material properties. Along with my projects at CEPT, I also worked part-time for my family business, Mordani Interiors, which deals in Interior Accessories where my major role revolved around Designing and Marketing. I also wish to contribute to the domain of architectural writing and for that I initiated my blog called http://inspirationsofanarchitect.blogspot.
