country as we have massive potential. So I’d want to ensure there’s lots of investment coming in to sport.
Q: What are some of the fondest/craziest football memories you have from attending games with your dad?
A: It was during the 2010 World Cup. Attending the opening match was something I’ll never forget. In fact I’d cherish it for the rest of my life. Meeting different people from different countries gave me an idea that sport is big and can unite people.
Q: Kaizer Chiefs have been struggling to win trophies in recent years. What do you think is the problem at Naturena and how can they fix it?
A: We all know the biggest problem is the management at Kaizer Chiefs - the decisions they making are killing the club. They actually run a business instead of running a soccer team. Either way, with Gavin Hunt, all I’m hoping for is that he’ll be given freedom to choose his team and introduce the new game style that’s going be entertaining and help us win the trophies. And also play the payers from our development. I just want the team to return back to winning ways
Q: After the heartbreaking end to last season and the current transfer ban, what are your expectations for Kaizer Chiefs this season?
A: I’m also happy that with this FIFA ban, it’ll help us in using our development players and rebuild a project that’s going last longer. I believe many of players at Kaizer Chiefs don’t deserve to play for this club. So it’s better with Gavin
Hunt building his own project with youth players that are going to last longer and learn about our history while getting rid of the deadwood. So yes, more youth and building a solid side to compete in the future.
Q: Who is your favourite South African footballer of all time and why?
A: It has to be Simphiwe Tshabalala. I’ve always loved him from the day he joined Kaizer Chiefs. I’m lucky enough to have met him in person. He’s a humble guy and always smiling. His football history says a lot about him. He was so dedicated and passionate about playing Kaizer Chiefs throughout his career and that’s why he went on to achieve so much for the club.
Q: Who is your favourite international footballer of all time and why?
A: It has to be Lionel Messi, unbelievable player. He’s actually an alien that one, the things he does are extraordinary. He’s gifted by God. I’m also pleased I had the opportunity to see him play because our generation will speak a lot about him in future. The records he has broken are going to last for a long time to come.
Q: As the famous Cellular, what advice do you have for the South African youth in general?
A: To believe in yourself at all times, self confidence is key in making it in life. Always do what you love. Don’t let people’s comments downgrade you. Never judge people, focus in school and always respect elders. Use your talent to make the most out of your life. Ù
