As Good as it Gets

5 Ways Golfing in September is Perfection
1. The Weather is Fine
September at the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island is really special. This refreshing time of year features perfectly green fairways, radiant flowers and foliage and endless natural beauty to enjoy between shots. Humidity is lower than in summertime and daily highs are in the 80s, rarely falling below 73 or exceeding 80.
2. Sunrise to Sunset Play
These long, end-of-summer days allow for a 7 a.m. tee time and play past 8 p.m. Yes, in September the sun disappears around 7:48 p.m., and the ball can still be seen rocketing over the fairway at 8:15! Dinner can always wait, and Big Jim’s BBQ is the place for refueling with excellent food and soaking up the sun setting over the course.
3. Come As You Are!
No need to put those summer outfits away just yet, as these are still appropriate for the warm weather. If your golf wardrobe does need updating, though, check out the award-winning Robert Trent Jones Pro Shop, which features Peter Millar, Straight Down, Foot Joy, Adidas and more.
4. Built-in Social Distancing
The Golf Academy at Palmetto Dunes has seen demand for golf lessons increase dramatically in the last six months. Personally, I think it’s because social distancing at our outdoor facilities is very doable, and we’ve seen a lot of groups successfully navigate the new normal, while enjoying the game. Also, the best medicine for adversity is fresh air, big skies, sunshine and pristine fairways, plus friendship, fellowship and a good challenge.
5. Better Habits Make for a Better Game
Arnold Palmer said, “Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented.” I have to agree on all counts. But there is also no doubt that golf is best served with a side of good habits. Call the Palmetto Dunes Golf Academy at (843) 338-9598 to discuss how we can help you up your game!
