2024 AND 2025: THE ICA BOARD’S FOCUS AND INITIATIVES

S E C U R I T Y R E V I E W :

A gated community security consultant was hired to conduct a comprehensive analysis of our community’s security systems. The consultant’s report, shared with the community in July 2024, provided:

1

2

3

A comparison of the number of incidents in our neighborhood with those in other gated communities across Orange County;

A review of the number, quality, and training of our security officers; and

An assessment of the various security measures currently in place Our neighborhood scored well in all these areas Additionally, the most recent one-year crime statistics from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department show that Isleworth’s reported incidents are significantly lower than those of neighboring gated communities

"While there have been a low number of Burglary report in our neighborhood, each reported event involved homeowners who did not activate or have a home alarm and or a monitoring system. As emphasized in previous newsletters and community safety alerts, we strongly encourage all homeowners to lock their doors, activate their home alarm systems, and install security cameras and motion-activated exterior lighting."

Since receiving the consultant’s report, we have contacted several organizations to obtain bids for additional or alternative perimeter security systems. The Board has meetings scheduled with these vendors in Q1 2025, after which we will provide an assessment of the strengths, weaknesses, and costs associated with each proposal.

In 2024, a rejuvenation treatment was applied to our community’s roadways to prevent further wear and tear. This treatment is expected to last for five years. The Board will continue to review options for additional treatments or potential roadway milling and replacement. Additionally, significant time, effort, and resources were spent in 2024 repairing various components of our 35+ year-old stormwater management system, including systems on the tennis island and the retention pond near the front gate.

In 2025, the Board will receive a capital reserve report, which will assess the current life expectancy and projected future replacement costs of several critical assets, including:

9 miles of roadway

135 storm drains

Stormwater management areas

Lift stations

The Gardens ponds

6 miles of community perimeter wall

Various buildings

In 2024, the Board revised the comprehensive rules governing our neighborhood, applicable to all residents, vendors, and contractors The updated Rules and Regulations are posted on the ICA website (Isleworth Resident Website). We encourage all homeowners to review these rules; below are a few noteworthy changes:

Common Area Use: The hours of operation for the Playground and Walking Path around the Gardens and water features have been updated to restrict use from dusk to dawn for safety reasons.

Golf Cart Use: Pursuant to Florida law, golf carts may only be operated by individuals with a valid driver’s license (or a learner’s permit) on ICA roadways. Children are not permitted to operate golf carts.

Vendor Registration: All vendors, contractors, and subcontractors who visit more than three times a year must register annually with the ICA office. Our contact number is (407) 909-2070.
