In a letter to the Permanent Secretary of the Department of Communities, Colum Boyle, Deborah Annetts pointed out the already low level of investment in the arts in Northern Ireland , which receives less funding per capita than any other UK country. It would also be devastating to cut funding at this extremely challenging financial time for the creative sector.

The ISM believes the government should be striving for a greater cultural spend across the UK, particularly as the creative sector has been identified as a key growth area for the economy. We will continue to make the case against cuts to Northern Ireland’s arts budget.
