Cascos is one of the longest-serving lift manufacturers to the automotive industry in the world, offering 2 Post, 4 Post and various styles of Scissor lifts.

Cascos lifts have been manufactured in Spain since 1965 and employ the more contemporary Electro-Hydraulic design; they have remained largely unchanged, except to evolve with the cars they are required to lift. Apart from sourcing lifting columns from Germany, the majority of components are manufactured in-house; even hydraulic cylinders.

Approvals by vehicle manufacturers including Renault, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Peugeot, Citroen, Dacia, Bentley, Volkswagen and Audi, are testament to Cascos’ manufacturing policies, traditional build quality, and dedication towards reliability.

Lifting capacity

Lifting capacities published by lift suppliers can be deceiving. Cascos lifts adhere to Directive UNE1493/2011; if you buy a Cascos lift that states it will lift 3.5 tonnes, then it will lift 3.5 tonnes however you position the arms. Other lifts might only be capable of lifting ‘up to’ 3.5 tonnes when the arms are in the optimum position for maximum lifting capacity.

Arm locking mechanism

Most lifts use the cog-style arm locking mechanism, which means you can only have the arms in predetermined positions. Cascos use a locking system which provides completely flexible arm positioning.

CE

Just because a lift bears the CE logo, it doesn’t mean it meets the required legislation. While European lift manufacturers have to manufacture to these stringent standards, lifts imported from outside the EU can be ‘self-certified’, which means a CE sticker can be applied to anything by an importer that’s prepared to take responsibility.

Cascos 2 Post lift columns are made from solid, hot-rolled steel profiles, as opposed to folded sheet steel. The extreme rigidity and resistance to torsion from this process allows for a much slimmer column, providing the widest useable space between the posts, while keeping the lowest possible overall width and therefore footprint of the lift.

The C4 Two Post Lift is, in our opinion, the best 2 Post Car Lift money can buy. There will always be some vehicles that you cannot fit on a lift perfectly but the C4 is as universal as you will find on the market.

The triple stage arms enable maximum scope for both short (where the pickup points are close together) and long (where they are far apart) applications, and the sheer engineering supremacy means that even larger vehicles feel reassuringly safe on this lift.

Luxus lifts adopt the electro-hydraulic design which has become increasingly popular in Europe in recent years. Hydraulic lifts have long been the most common type in the US, the largest market for lifts.

Cheaper to produce, they are a little more complex and time-consuming to install but they are built to an extremely high standard. Whilst it may not be fair to expect the same life expectancy of a ‘screw’ lift, Luxus is undoubtedly considered to be amongst the most durable and reliable electrohydraulic lifts on the market.

Cascos C445 4000kg 4 Post Wheel Alignment Lift

Cascos alignment lift platforms incorporate recesses with turnplates and slip plates built-in, while many competitor lifts to take a Flat Platform Lift and simply ‘build it up’ placing these components on top and filling in the gaps.

The downside of this is that you have an unnecessarily high lift when it is in its lowered position, which causes ground clearance problems with many vehicles.

Logik 6

The Logik 6 is an advanced CCD wheel aligner and includes features such as Number Plate Recognition and remote control operation; Smart-Software makes the aligner compatible for use with a tablet or phone, so that alignment can be carried out from any position around the vehicle and not limited to the cabinet.

A dedicated Spoiler Program automatically activates when dealing with modified or lowered vehicles. It also has the ability to be used on a 2 post or mid-rise scissor lift using the optional kit.

The Logik 6 is the very latest generation of alignment system to join the range. With luxury features such as Number Plate Recognition and ADAS-ready Software, this model is what we consider to offer the best price vs performance ratio in CCD alignment.

Traditionally, wheel alignment has needed a 4 Post or Scissor ‘Platform’ lift in order to work correctly. That is not the case anymore.

The Logik 6 also offers remote control operation meaning that alignment can be carried out from any position around the vehicle and not limited to the cabinet, whilst a dedicated Spoiler Program automatically activates when dealing with modi fied or lowered vehicles.

COMPATIBLE WITH 2 POST LIFTS

The ingenious ‘Freeze’ Program (which is built into the software) and specially designed 2PK (Two Post Kit) enables the operator to take all readings at ground level, and then ‘freeze’ the data. The vehicle can then be raised to a comfortable working height for any adjustments to be made, before lowering again to confirm the recommended settings are now in place.

What is a CCD wheel aligner?

CCD stands for “Charged Coupled Device”. CCDs are sensors used in digital cameras and video cameras to record still and moving images. The CCD captures light and converts it to digital data that is recorded

CCD aligners use ‘measuring heads’ containing sensors, which are fitted to each wheel. These are able to communicate their physical positioning to a main computer, which then calculates, coordinates and displays the findings. 4, 6 and 8 sensor versions are available – the more sensors, the more measurements that can be recorded.

Smart-Software means the aligner is compatible for use with a tablet or phone. One of our best-selling alignment systems, the Logik 6 also has the ability to be used on a 2 post or mid-rise scissor lift using the optional Kit.

These days wheel alignment is a normal part of maintaining a vehicle – if the geometry falls out of tolerance, the car may not drive correctly and the tyres might wear out quickly. The same principle applies to ADAS; after any repair that could affect the alignment (or view) of the camera and radar systems, it’s important to ensure they are working correctly and are correctly aligned –and for this you need an ADAS alignment rig to test and re-align them.

A frontal impact can misalign the radar unit, or a windscreen replacement can misalign the camera, so that the ADAS systems don’t work correctly. This is where ADAS alignment systems come in allowing workshops to ensure a car ‘sees’ the road ahead correctly.

The Hofmann Megaplan digital ADAS alignment rig is simple to operate and calibration can be completed in a few simple steps by a single operator. The digital system reproduces a vehicle specific calibration ‘pattern board’ image on a large-scale high definition monitor. Heat Mate is capable of heating ferrous materials and aluminium in seconds, making light work of any job where a component requires heating to free off or un-seize, a particularly common problem in alignment adjustments. The process is made safer by the flame-free heating technology.

Heat Mate works by creating heat directly inside the metal instead of heating up the entire component from the outside in, reaching red heat (about 1000 degrees Celsius) in just a few seconds. By generating heat only in the desired point, the most common operations of straightening, bending and pin or bearing replacement can be carried out with ease.

Many tools will use oxyacetylene which can be inaccurate and heat larger areas than required. This method of heating is quicker, safer and able to heat a precise location rapidly, without needing to heat the whole area; it can also avoid any change in the characteristics of the metal being heated. This allows you to work close to cables, pipes and other components without the risk of damage. The absence of a naked flame can lower costs by more than 50% compared with the use of oxyacetylene tanks.
