Legends and Lore
Lore and Legends explores humanities past through the lens of the lore, legends and myth built up by dominant cultures like Ancient Egypt, Greece, and more forgotten or ignored groups like the Native Americans or Tribal Africans. ---------- A legend is a genre of folklore that consists of a narrative featuring human actions, believed or perceived, both by teller and listeners, to have taken place in human history. ---------- Lore may refer to folklore, acquired knowledge or traditional beliefs, or it may refer to oral lore or oral tradition, orally conveyed cultural knowledge and traditions. ---------- Myth is a folklore genre consisting of narratives that play a fundamental role in a society, such as foundational tales or origin myths. Since "myth" is widely used to imply that a story is not objectively true, the identification of a narrative as a myth can be highly controversial.
