The history of Better Silver unfolds over four decades, starting in 1977 when Romano Bettinardi began making silver chains in his garage in a village just outside of Vicenza Italy, in the prestigious Gold District. Over the years the company has grown to become a vertically integrated industrial reality with factories in Italy and Romania. Today, some 20 million chains - basic and fancy chains, as well as chains with stones and finished jewelry designed around chains - and components are produced every year.

Manufacturing Verticalised manufacturing based on 4 synergistically-linked manufacturing facilities, which ensure efficient continuity throughout the processing phases. These processes include melting, machining, welding, diamond-finish polishing, finishing and electroplating. Organised Lean Manufacturing process strives for constant improvement. Technology plays a fundamental role within the company and all manufacturing processes are in fact automated and performed by the state of the art machinery.
Quality The company focusses closely on the quality of its products, starting with the purchase of raw materials from the main precious metals merchants, in all phases of manufacturing, right up to shipping goods with our chosen carriers. On that score, it achieved ISO 9001 certification from SGS Italia certifying body in 2008. And from 2012 it achieved TF (Traceability and Fashion), the voluntary traceability certificate that allows products in the Gold and Fashion production sectors to qualify as Made in Italy.
Technology Adopting cutting edge goldsmithing and metalworking technologies, and highly experienced professional staff makes Better Silver a company that constantly seeks to evolve.
Sustainability
Better Silver’s continuous activity in the field of sustainability is evident in the certifications obtained. Better Silver reached its ambitious goals for 2021 to use 100% of electric energy supply from renewable sources, thereby reducing greenhouse emissions to 0 and saving 1500 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere every year, and to use 100% recycled silver, thereby reducing the need to excavate thousands of tons of earth every year. For 2022, Better Silver is determined to reach the following goals: • Profit > to regain our Credit Rating with CERVED of A3.1 • Planet > to start our Plastic Free journey • People > to reach 3.000 hours of internal employee training

Technical Information Better Silver chains are available by meter or as finished products, bracelets and necklaces, in different lengths. All our products are NICKEL-FREE, in accordance with the European Directive EN1811/2011, and do not cause any allergy. OUR INTERNAL PLATING DEPARTMENT CAN PROVIDE ALL THE GALVANIC TREATMENTS LISTED BELOW: • Silver plating • Rhodium plating • Yellow and Rosè gold plating • 2-tone plating • 3-tone plating • Ruthenium plating • Black rhodium plating • Gun metal Finish • Silver plus treatment
SILVER+ In 2012 the company created a passivation treatment, known as Silver Plus, which maintains the shine and brilliance without altering colour. Accelerated tests that recreate real environmental conditions have shown that silver treated with Silver+™ lasts 50 times longer than non-treated product.
