Introduction
The FIA is committed to accelerating the global transformation to net zero by acting on its own impact, leading the development and promotion of new technologies and using its reach to raise awareness and change perceptions.
In our ecosystem, sponsors and manufacturers are seeking to integrate a deeper sense of purpose into the narrative as consumer expectations evolve, as do fans’ expectations of their favourite sport, moving from human performance alone to human rights and environmental protection.
Our federation has committed to a long-term plan up to 2030, communicating regularly on progress. This sets the stage for trustbased dialogue and collaboration with all stakeholders. We are committed to addressing environmental and climate issues, both for our organisation and in helping our members and stakeholders to make and meet their commitments. With the adoption of the 2020-2030 Environmental Strategy, we have set bold ambitions to align with climate science and our vision to promote safe, sustainable and accessible motor sport and mobility for all.
This is the FIA’s first environmental report. This report summarises our 2020-2030 environmental strategy, analyses carbon footprint of the reporting period 2021, and highlights the achievements of the targets set in the environmental strategy since its adoption (December 2020 until June 2022).
We will report annually on our progress towards environmental sustainability and the goal of becoming net zero by 2030.
