“One of the many advantages of attending Ursuline is the exceptional environment an all-girls school creates. There is a special sisterhood that unites every student and empowers every girl’s unique qualities… I created lasting bonds with not only my peers, but also the incredible teachers and staff.”

“Ursuline provides a wide variety of courses and electives, passionate teachers, and an academically challenging environment. There are so many opportunities to learn more about the world around us. Through the various delegations and exchange programs, many girls created friendships with people from all over the world.”

“I will live out the rest of my days with Serviam always in mind. I will never forget the helpfulness and generosity I experienced at Ursuline, so I hope I can pass those on to others as well. I also learned that kindness and love will get me the furthest in life. I will always aspire to bring light, rather than darkness, to people’s lives.”

Ursuline Academy of Dallas – Educating Global Leaders

Spiritual Formation and Serviam, “I Will Serve”

Ursuline students engage in a variety of transformative experiences which help them grow in global competence. As they get to know and touch the realities of other cultures, they gain new appreciation for different perspectives and a better understanding of what it means to be a citizen of the world. They also have the opportunity to share a unique sisterhood with students around the globe. Educational and cultural exchanges take place each year with sister schools in Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, England, France, Peru, South Africa, Taiwan, and Wilmington, Delaware. Mission trips and global studies opportunities are also offered.

Ursuline education is rooted in the belief that spiritual life is to be nurtured and developed. Students discover the possibilities that faith in Jesus Christ offers through an array of curricular and extracurricular activities including Theology studies, integration of Catholic social teachings in coursework, annual retreats, school-wide liturgies, student-led prayer services, and daily prayer. All Ursuline schools share a commitment to forming students as servant leaders. In the spirit of Serviam, (Latin for “I will Serve”), students and alumnae reach out to society through service projects initiated by students and service learning incorporated into classroom instruction.

“The rich variety of sports, clubs, and extracurriculars means that every girl can become a leader in her own way. From working on a group project to carrying the team to a state victory, Ursuline girls know how to lead with more than just themselves in mind, but as a community working toward a common goal.”

“I had the opportunity to travel to Uganda, and it was such an amazing experience. I learned so much about a different culture and experienced it first hand because the people we interacted with were so open and friendly. It was eye-opening to go through the day with them and see how they live their lives.”

“Serviam has instilled in me a greater appreciation for community and a greater desire to serve others. I work to only put forth my unconventional best…I have found that my best occurs when I work with others, striving toward a goal together and helping each other along the way.”
