“Serviam to me means action. It is a way of actively showing our faith and love by serving others as Christ does in our community. Ursuline encourages us to go out into Dallas and see the results of our work with people living in our very own neighborhoods. What starts as required service hours becomes a joy and opportunity to make a real impact.”
“The most important lesson I learned at Ursuline was how to trust in myself. Through the endless support of my teachers and classmates, I found my voice, but more importantly, I became confident in using it. Ursuline taught me not just that my opinions matter, but how to use them to make a difference. Through this self-assuredness, I can conquer any challenge thrown my way.”
“Beyond the core curriculum, Ursuline has always made an effort to keep its student body informed beyond our city, state, and even country. With our many connections through delegations and events like Global Week, Ursuline surrounds us with countless cultures, educating us to address issues besides our own.”
Ursuline Academy of Dallas – Educating Global Leaders
Spiritual Formation and Serviam, “I Will Serve”
Ursuline students engage in a variety of transformative experiences which help them grow in global competence. As they get to know and touch the realities of other cultures, they gain new appreciation for different perspectives and a better understanding of what it means to be a citizen of the world. They also have the opportunity to share a unique sisterhood with students around the globe. Educational and cultural exchanges take place each year with sister schools in Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, England, France, Jordan, Peru, South Africa, Taiwan, and Wilmington, Delaware. Mission trips and global studies opportunities are also offered.
Ursuline education is rooted in the belief that spiritual life is to be nurtured and developed. Students discover the possibilities that faith in Jesus Christ offers through an array of curricular and extracurricular activities including Theology studies, integration of Catholic social teachings in coursework, annual retreats, school-wide liturgies, student-led prayer services, and daily prayer. All Ursuline schools share a commitment to forming students as servant leaders. In the spirit of Serviam (Latin for “I will serve”), students and alumnae reach out to society through service projects initiated by students and service learning incorporated into classroom instruction.

“Ursuline was the best choice I ever made for my academic life. I loved that I was able to take the classes I wanted and that I could choose from so many options. The Ambassador program helped me grow into the best leader I could be…it prepared me to step into any situation and handle it confidently. I learned how to adapt to different situations and the importance of creating relationships when leading.”
“My involvement in peer ministry and participation in retreats has allowed me to develop a strong faith and spiritual life. I had the opportunity to discuss important topics related to my faith with those around me…a group of girls eager to grow in their faith, as well as supportive teachers. I felt comfortable asking questions, and I learned that faith is not about being perfect, but wanting to grow in it.”
“Ursuline has provided me a high-quality academic experience by combining technology-based, active learning classrooms with group discussions and projects that allow a student’s voice to shine. From the humanities to art to the sciences, I have been pushed to grow as a learner, beyond what I thought was possible. Ursuline encourages students to contemplate their beliefs, behavior, and how we can impact the world.”
