Enjoy Piedmont and Liguria Liguria and Piedmont, so close and yet so apart with their culture, lifestyle and culinary specialties. Liguria: a narrow coastal strip with amazing sea vegetation, colorful houses perched on the slopes that remind us how the seamen on the way home recognized their houses thanks to the color of the facade. Piedmont, a locked treasure with a medieval atmosphere, which has started to show its full beauty only in recent years. Home to the Savoy family with its castles, wine estates, the typical local specialties such as cheese, truffles and more, Piedmont uncloses with discretion to visitors from all over the world.

Lake Maggiore & Lake Orta: old villages & tastes Lake Orta is known as Lake Maggiore's quiet brother, less flashy but full of suggestive corners. Experience first hand the contrast between Maggiore's sumptuous palaces and prestigious gardens and the wild nature of Orta and its small well-groomed villages. What they have in common are islands in the lakes: the classic well-known destinations of Isola Bella and Isola Pescatori compared to the quiet island of San Giulio on Lake Orta, almost only inhabited by the nuns in the austere Abbey. Learn about the reputation the nuns have for restoring antique fabrics, from tapestries to liturgical vestments.

Milan upside down Milan is evolving. It changes every season but still preserves that "Lady of the North" charm that has confirmed it as capital of northern Italy for a millennium and, in recent years, as Europe's second most loved destination. In recent years Milan can be visited looking up at the skyscrapers designing its new skyline, in the Porta Nuova district. If vertigo makes that a problem, you can take a tour looking downwards to learn about mysterious Milan hidden under its hectic streets.

Free time for a lunch break and then on to one of the most mysterious, fascinating tours in the afternoon. No-one can truly imagine the hidden city under our feet. Walking through the remains of ancient Roman roads underground, you discover archaeological Milan rich in stories and treasures with roots buried in the past, right back to the first foundation stone laid. Return to Hotel and overnight stay. Day 3 After breakfast, meeting with the guide. After collecting bikes, you will leave to discover the New Milan. Skyscrapers have been going up for some years now giving the city a new skyline; with the Duomo, always the undisputed giant of its panorama, reduced to a small church hemmed in by the glass surfaces of new buildings. Through art, history, town planning and architecture, the two-wheeled guided tour will lead us to Milan's proud new district. Where from the old "vecchio" Pirelli to the new Pelli skyscraper, from the square piazza Gae Aulenti to the Vertical Wood records abound: from the most innovative skyscraper, to the one experimenting with new building types and then, best of all, proves to be "self-sufficient", in a challenge between world famous architects. Calabria & Basilicata: The deep south Travel down to the tip of the boot, to discover cultures and places full of great historical value. Basilicata, and especially Matera, is increasingly requested by international tourism: presences increased by 33% in 6 years. This region, together with the neighbor Calabria, are more and more perceived and appreciated for their authenticity, for the offer of "green tourism" in uncontaminated areas, for all their small unspoiled towns and villages: just think of the Castle of Melfi, the "Sassi" of Matera, the rock of Tropea, not to mention the Caribbean-like water of Calabrian sea. There is a curious link between the two extreme offshoots of the European continent, Norway and Calabria-Basilicata area: the stockfish. Imported from the early 16th century it has become a very popular traditional dish in both regional cuisines.

Sicily and Malta two islands under the same sun This tour takes you to the southern islands of the Mediterranean sea, to discover their unique cultures. When you think of Italy, you probably think mostly of Roman ruins, but Sicily is a real melting pot of cultures. Over the centuries, the island was colonized by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Muslims, Normans, Spanish and the Bourbon Kingdom, before becoming Italian. You can still find the traces left behind: Greeks and Romans ruins together with Byzantine and Arab art all at once! The Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Romans and the Byzantines, all left their sites also on the Maltese Islands, which was actually an extension of Sicily till 1530: the conquerors in fact also governed the Maltese Islands till Charles V bequeathed Malta to the Knights, taking Malta through a new golden age. The history of Malta is a long and colourful one dating back to the dawn of civilisation, the remains of which are the mysterious temples dedicated to the goddess of fertility.
