Concept & Purpose

We feel nostalgia about old fashion analog TV and childhood memories

Project description

Analog TV is detecting distance that when someone comes near, TV shows animations those old things which we saw when we were kids. When the time passes some minutes, TV shows the ‘watcher’ and demonstrates comments that ‘don’t watching TV too closely for your eyes’ and another videos are screening. It reminds us the reminiscence.

When Watcher comes, it reacts with noise and screen error.

When Watcher comes to set area, noise getting reduced and animation sounds start.

When we wait about 5 seconds in set area, the screen turned and our childhood days are showed in TV screen that we are scolded from parents cause of too much watching TV

In terms of second interaction, when Watcher keeps standing in front of TV, another characters showed randomly and they present to Watchers message and memory. 13

Technical Structure Description

Tools

Programs which are conducted in Mac book received the variables from Webcam and arduino. In arduino, there are sensors that calculate the distance about 1.5 meters so it calculates the Watchers distance. We connected TV and mac book by VGA terminal of mac book to RCA port by converting.

When the user stands in front of the monitor this project start. The user will see CCTV screen that shows the corridor they passed just before entering the room. As the user stamp their foot, horrible foot prints appear toward the room where they are. Finally the door opens and the user ends up with watching the ghost pouncing the user on the monitor.

This project is to improve the strength of watercolors and blowing with a straw as materials and tools to assist kids to develop expression. Watercolors are not suitable for kids because of the feature that they flow quite freely. But in this project, the advantage of various colors in watercolors is reinforced and it is possible for kids to control watercolors easily. Blowing is appropriate activity for children because it has very simple movement and kids have a low ability to control muscles.
