THE HISTORY We were established in 1926 as a village blacksmith and a manufacturer of sports toboggans/sleds (hence the polar bear logo). When Denmark experienced a building boom, due to the establishment of the welfare state in the early 1930s, we used our metalwork skills to develop what was to become the largest brand of masonry and bricklaying tools in Denmark. The hardening furnace and the mechanical forging hammer from back then are still in use, and the iTOOLS trowels are still largely handmade; a process in which a skilled worker touches the product 22 times before the finished tool leaves the factory. Something very special about the trowels from iTOOLS is the conical grinding, where the steel is ground thinner towards the tip so that the blade has give. The steel itself comes from a French rolling mill in Grenoble, while the wooden handles are sourced in the Danish forests. iTOOLS has 48 employees, and we are the only remaining company manufacturing bricklaying tools in Scandinavia.

Other Options for Handles: Natural and Soft-grip NATURAL The handle is wax treated by melting beeswax and paraffin together and cooling it into small pellets, which are then tumbled together with the handles. Made of wood from Danish beech forests.

SOFT-GRIP The Soft-grip handle has the same dimensions as the original red handle, but with rubber on the grip surface. It allows for a firm grip on the handle, without the use of extra force. Tools with Soft-grip handles are not stock items. They are manufactured to order.

Stainless Steel and Improved Ergonomics STAINLESS STEEL We offer a wide range of stainless steel tools. For bricklaying work in hospitals, food producers and similar settings, it is a requirement that stainless steel tools are used. Stainless steel tools are easier to clean and have a longer product lifespan.

IMPROVED ERGONOMICS Many of the bricklayer’s trowels are also available in an ergonomic version, where the bend on the shank is more rectangular compared to that of the traditional ones, which are swan-neck shaped. The bend was developed in collaboration with Aalborg University, Denmark. Here, the ergonomic trowel, was compared to the classic trowel. The result showed a 40% reduction in strain on the arm and shoulder when using the ergonomic trowel.

Handle with Improved Ergonomics ERGONOMIC HANDLE

Several of our quality tools are available with an ergonomic handle. The handle is adapted to the bend of the fingers, so that you achieve an optimal firm grip when, for example, you apply tile adhesive. The ergonomic handle is available on our notched trowels, floats, plinth edger and the oval joint press.

TOOLS FOR PROPERTY MAINTENANCE Need to collect debris and silt from drains, a well or similar? Then our gully grabs are the ideal tools. The scoop comes with either a round or a square bowl and it opens and closes with a handle. Our flat steel coil cleaners are manufactured at our factory in Herning and are available in lengths of up to 50 metres. The band is of quality spring steel, which means that the band stays straight while remaining flexible enough to navigate through the sewer. Our roof gutter cleaners are designed to fit most gutters, so you can easily remove fallen leaves in the autumn. It is available for both right- and left-handed users.
