three-dimensional fields Beginning with a matrix, or set of vertical and horizontal construction lines, a line field is developed. A second set of data is introduced with the layering of segments and arcs. Three distinct 8� x 8� sequences are assembled to form the faces of a threedimensional field within a cube formwork. Vector and planar models are extracted from this matrix of information serving as the first analog site, by which all the projects within this section derive their original form.

volumetrix Considering the most relevant trajectories of the previous planar model, two elevations mapping the spatial characteristics of this three-dimensional field are utilized. Drawing from these templates, a volumetric component (4 1/2� x 4 1/2� solid wood block) is introduced to explore the notion of shearing as means of creating and transforming volumetric constructs. The volumetric model is derivative of the elements from the planar model.

enter/exit pavilion Through surveying the wood models with a figure of my height in scale (5’-1�), inhabitation as a means to integrate and affect notions of space, scale, choreography and structure is established. These conditions constitute the formwork component in casting out a solid mass of plaster, the enter/exit pavilion. The pavilion assumes inhabitation of a single individual accommodating an egress different from the enter/exit points.

body armatures Partners: Lisa Diaz and Brady Del Rosario As a way of investigating ergonomic principles, scalar relationships and the documentation process, a full scale construction is materialized. By extracting spatial conditions from our respective enter/exit pavilion models, my partners and I combined our selected postures to develop a diagrammatic study model (left), which later informed the unfolding of the full scale model (right).

urban forensics Sound Travelling Through San Francisco Through recording the sounds of my entrance (Embarcadero Station) into the city of San Francisco via BART and analyzing the frequencies of these recordings in 15 second intervals, the first set of north, east, south and west investigation points within the city grid emerge. These points of exploration multiply exponentially as each new point spawns four additional sites along the coordinates. The map captures my journey through the city using sound as my guide. The frequencies of the city breathing reveals the invisible San Francisco.

building space Micro-Theater: The Articulating Arm With the site established as the San Francisco Transbay Terminal, this micro-theater uses modern technology (hydraulic systems) to retract a wooden platform used for dance in a folk music known as Son Jarocho, regional to Veracruz, Mexico. The composition investigates a shift in paradigm as advanced technology is used to support a simple, grounded and sacred indigenous instrument.
