Child sexual abuse is “the involvement of a child in sexual activity that he or she does not fully comprehend, is unable to give informed consent to, or for which the child is not developmentally prepared and cannot give consent, or that violate the laws or social taboos of society. Child sexual abuse is evidenced by this activity between a child and an adult who by age or development is in a relationship of responsibility, trust or power, the activity being intended to gratify or satisfy the needs of the other person.”

Magazine Editorial on the famous portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo. Three page editorial with brief history of player and accomplishments. 11x17 size sheet

Career in Soccer Many experts have testified to Cristiano Ronaldo’s skills and impact as the best modern-day footbal ler (alongside Lionel Messi), described as a fast, tricky, strong, skillful winger and striker who will take on any defender with his dribbling and pace; he hits his free kicks with power and pace, and is able to beat defenders off the dribble and cross the ball. He is able to score with his head and both feet. He is also an accurate set piece and penalty kick taker. Ronaldo said: “I didn’t have any particular idols as a child. My ambition was to play for my national team because that’s where the footballers I mostly followed played. I’m sure I used to do stuff I no longer do due to age or experience.” Ronaldo cited his Brazilian namesake, Ronaldo, as one of his footballing heroes. Ronaldo once stated his desire to carve his name in history alongside footballing legends such as Pele and Diego Maradona.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Player of the year

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, (born 5 February 1985), known as Cristiano Ronaldo, is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club Real Madrid and captains the Portugal national team. He became the most expensive footballer in history when he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009 in a transfer worth £80 million (¤94 million/$131.6 million). Ronaldo's contract with Real Madrid, under the terms of which he is paid ¤21 million per year, makes him the highest-paid footballer in the world, and his buyout clause is valued at ¤1 billion as per his contract.Ronaldo began his career as a youth player for Andorinha, where he played for two years, before moving to C.D. Nacional. In 1997, he made a move to Portuguese giants Sporting Clube de Portugal. Ronaldo caught the attention of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who signed him for £12.24 million (¤15 million) in 2003. In 2004, Ronaldo won his first club honour, the FA Cup. Ronaldo was the first player playing in England to win all four main PFA and FWA awards, doing so in 2007. In 2008 and 2013, Ronaldo won the FIFA/Ballon d'Or award for the best footballer on the planet, being the first ever Portuguese to win the award twice. He was awarded the European Golden Shoe in both 2008 and 2011. In 2008, he won three of the four main PFA and FWA trophies and was named the FIFA World Player of the Year, FIFPro Player of the Year, World Soccer Player of the Year, and the Onze d'Or. In 2007 and 2008, Ronaldo was named FWA Footballer of the Year. Ronaldo was the inaugural winner of the FIFA Puskás Award for the Goal of the Year in 2009.

There is something almost balletic about Ronaldo’s play that transforms mere possession of the ball into a footballing pas-de-deux. Much as he is restless whilst others enjoy the limelight, the graceful Ronal do comes to life with the ball at his feet, pirouetting away from opposing defenders with poise, and gliding across the stage with an uncommon elegance. From his early days with local club Andorinha, where his father was kit man, it was clear that the young Cristiano was destined for greatness. After a short stint with Nacional, he left Madeira to follow his dream and, as it has turned out, to become one of the greatest players in the world.Sporting’s fans were the first to bear witness to the young genius. He made his first team debut at the age of 17, scoring twice in the process. As it turned out, he would only wear the famous green-and-white hoops for one complete season; at the start of 2003/04, English giants Manchester United came to the Portuguese capital to play Sporting in a friendly to mark the opening of the new Jose Alvalade Stadium.

Early Life Ronaldo was born in Santo António, a neighbour hood of Funchal, Madeira, the youngest child of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, a cook, and José Dinis Aveiro, a municipal gardener. His second given name “Ronaldo” was chosen after then-U.S. presi dent Ronald Reagan, who was his father’s favourite actor. He has one older brother, Hugo, and two older sisters, Elma and Liliana Cátia. His great-grand mother Isabel da Piedade was from Cape Verde. At the age of eight, Ronaldo played for amateur team Andorinha, where his father was the kit man. In 1995, Ronaldo signed with local club Nacional, and, after a title-winning campaign, he went on a three-day trial with Sporting CP, who subsequently signed him for an undisclosed sum. Ronaldo joined Sporting’s other youth players who trained at the Academia Sporting, the club’s football academy, in Alcochete. He became the only player ever to play for Sporting’s under-16, under-17, under-18, B-team, and the first team, all within one season. He scored two goals in his league debut on 7 Octo ber 2002, which Sporting CP won 3–0 against Moreirense, while featuring for Portugal in the 2002 European Under-17 Championship.2006 World Cup Ronaldo was the second-highest scorer in World Cup qualification in the European zone with seven goals, and scored his first World Cup goal against Iran with a penalty kick in Portugal's second match in the group stage.

Breaking Records

Breaking records On 18 August 2013, Ronaldo made his 200th competitive appearance for Real Madrid in a 2–1 home win over Real Betis. Ronaldo had not scored during the first two league games, but against Athletic Bilbao on 1 September 2013, he scored his first of the season in a 3–1 home victory. On 15 September 2013, after much speculation, Ronaldo signed a new contract with Real Madrid that will keep him at the club until 2018, with a salary of €21 million (after taxes), which makes him the highest paid players in football. On 17 September 2013, Ronaldo scored the second Champions League hat-trick of his career in Real Madrid's open ing group match of the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League, a 6–1 away win against Galatasaray. On 22 September 2013, Ronaldo scored a brace in a 4–1 home victory against Getafe CF, including his 209th goal in his 205th game, to become the fifth highest scorer in the club's history. His 106 away appearances for Real Madrid on 2 November 2013, Ronaldo scored his 100th away goal as he hit a brace in a 3–2 away victory against Rayo Vallecano, averaging 0.94 per game. On 5 November 2013, Ronaldo broke the record held for Champions League goals scored in a calendar year with 14 goals, after he equalised for Real Madrid in a 2–2 draw at Juventus. On 9 November 2013, Ronal do scored his 19th La Liga hat-trick (one from open play, a penalty and a direct free-kick) in a 5–1 home victory against Real Sociedad, which made him second in the all time League hat-trick list. The direct free-kick was his 20th direct free-kick goal for Real Madrid, one more than free-kick specialist Ronaldin ho scored with Barcelona.
