5 MISTAKES TO AVOID WHEN CLEANING STAINLESS STEEL

Putting oil in a heated pan

Metals, like stainless steel, expand when they are placed on direct heat. To avoid removing a burned oil in your pan, start pouring your oil in a pan before you place it in a cooker. This way you avoid the problem of cleaning burned oil overnight.

Not rinsing well

Be cautious of leaving a dirty water residue on the surface of your stainless steel because this could create a stain. Rinse them thoroughly after cleaning them with any type of cleaning solution.

Bleaching

As any steel contractor in Singapore would say, do not mix stainless steel and chlorine. Check the ingredients of your cleaners if they have bleach and chlorides because these could cause corrosion. Thus, ruining your equipment.

Using hard bristle brushes

Brushes are generally abrasive cleaning instruments that are not suited for stainless steel. They can remove the protective coating that prevents rust and scratches. Instead use sponges, pads, or soft cloths for general washing.

Not hiring a professional cleaner

If all else fails, leave it to an expert in stainless steel. If you cannot find one, at least ask for a professional advise from stainless steel fabrication companies in Singapore. They are experts when it comes to maintaining stainless steel.
