VENUE MANAGEMENT
Beyond IU Auditorium, we oversee and staff other venues on campus, including Presidents Hall, Conrad Prebys Amphitheater, and Woodburn Hall. These additional campus venues hosted over 12,000 guests in 2019–2020 for lectures, weddings, receptions, university ceremonies, and more.
Presidents Hall is located inside historic Franklin Hall. We welcomed over 8,000 guests at events inside Presidents Hall last year. Events were highlighted by several notable speakers including Ruth Carter, Bill Whitaker, and Dolores Huerta. Presidents Hall also hosted in partnership with The Media School a taping of We Need to Talk, a CBS Sports talk show featuring 12 rotating female hosts. It also hosted a special IU Bicentennial Luncheon that featured the unveiling of “Lux et Veritas,” a painting commissioned for IU’s 200th anniversary by professor Bonnie Sklarski. Conrad Prebys Amphitheater is nestled between Bryan House and the Jordan River, just steps away from the front door of IU Auditorium. The amphitheater featured numerous Jacobs School of Music jazz concerts and hosted another beautiful wedding ceremony. (Currently, the Amphitheater is being used as one of the primary sites for Open Air Venues on campus, and it has hosted events ranging from movie nights to chamber orchestra concerts to IU football watch parties.) This space hosted a handful of events in 2019–2020 including a lecture from Alice M. Greenwald and a CultureFest screening.
