Life between shelters

| Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon

LIFE BETWEEN SHELTERS: Refugee camps of today becoming cities of tomorrow is my architectural research project awarded the 2020 Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship. The scheme investigates design solutions responding to displacement and transitional populations.

The travels took place between February and June 2022 in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon where four different typologies of transitional camps and settlements were explored: the Syrian refugee informal camp and settlement - Zaatari Refugee Camp and Village - the planned and formal Azraq Refugee Camp, the migrant slums of Izmir, Turkey and the urban Palestinian refugee camps of Beirut.
