Archaeology of a Hotel Virtualizing. Rehabilitation Project for Hotel Taoro // Puerto de la Cruz // Tenerife.
University: School of Art and Architecture //
European University of Madrid (UEM) Professor // Course: Nestor Montenegro // Final
Thesis Project Date // Year: July 2012 to February 2013 // 5th year
Target:
The aim of this project is the refurbishment of the Hotel Taoro at Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. This work looks into intervention strategies that may recover the history and identity of buildings, through a dialogue between traditional and contemporary architecture, using simple elements that transform decaying buildings into flexible and complex spaces. It required a research through the history of the building, treated as if it were an archaeological site, to understand the evolution that had suffered and the reasons why it had become what it was, including an analysis of the current situation and rehabilitation strategies needed. This exploration allows us to meditate on the meaning of rehabilitation on the architecture of 21st Century using new technologies and materials.

// Construction V Date // Year: Fall Semester 2011 // 5th year
Target:
The project propose an investigation into the possibilities that provide new numerical analysis techniques, manufacturing and assembly to develop different material systems. The theme chosen here proposes a kind of weightlessness when being suspended construction of two existing pieces. In this situation the proposal can be supported but also hang and stiffness conditions become visible.

Sustainable Housing 20 apartments for energy efficiency. Renewable Energy and Passive Design Techniques// Madrid // Spain.
University: School of Art and Architecture //
European University of Madrid (UEM) Professor // Course: Victoria Acebo_Angel Alonso
// Project Design 2 Date // Year: Spring Semester 2009 // 3rd year
Target:
The student will develop a design strategy that is able to cover the realistic ambitions of the new energy paradigm without committing to pragmatic tools or engineering or promoters, converting the energy requirements of design codes to their own architectural language. The target of this project is to design 20 houses that meet the requirements of energy efficiency, using as main tools renewable energy and passive design techniques. A zero energy building brings together a number of environmental technologies to achieve its objectives and makes a greater emphasis on passive systems for energy efficiency or more active power generation systems using renewable sources.
Transverse Section A transverse cut in the structure reveal a mixture of functions and space sizes within the curve volume.
Building Plans The building is organized along a longitudinal access floor situated between the two housing floors. Each housing incorporates its own greenhouse-terrace and an open floor plan to provide freedom to the user.

Axonometric and Elevation In order to design a building that achieves a environmental conditioning by natural processes, the building forms a great system to achieve higher performance.
In order to design a building that achieves a environmental conditioning by natural processes, it is been used the sun, winds, orientation and materials that allows design a sustainable building. Much of the energy savings is given by geometry that responds to different parameters depending on the objectives you want to achieve.
Through the analysis of convection it is design a curved structure that creates a double skin with which we can transport and store a large thermal mass to the use of two conditioning system in a single desing, one for winter and one for summer.
Besides this system for independent situations, not only is designed individually for each home, the building forms a great system to achieve higher performance. This double skin structure allows resolve to achieve all de objectives proposed for sustainable housing.

University: School of Art and Architecture //
European University of Madrid (UEM) Professor // Course: Beatriz Matos_Ruben Picado
// Project Design 1 Date // Year: Fall Semester 2007 // 2th year
Target:
A project based on the design of ten houses through the search of a flexible system with architectural models. The entire design process will be subordinate to the development of a game, transformed into a model that gives many answers from a single system. The spatial organization, the change of scale and especially versatility will work as tools with which we will build this housing complex.
