Saas-Fee - Saastal Welcome to Saas Valley - high alpine paradise Surrounded by eighteen four-thousand-metre peaks, a unique mountain and glacier landscape full of adventure possibilities and exciting stories welcomes you. Saas valley consist of 4 villages - Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell and Saas-Balen. The car-free village of Saas-Fee (1800m above sea level) lies at the foot of the highest mountain in Switzerland, the Dom (4545m above sea level), which can be viewed in all its glory from the world’s highest revolving restaurant. In the summer, visitors can enjoy a huge number of day trip destinations, along with 350km of hiking paths and themed trails. Of course, let’s not forget the cuddliest citizens of the village, Saas-Fee either: the famous tame marmots. During the winter, the outstanding snow conditions and well-kept slopes make Saas-Fee the ultimate haven for winter sports pros, as well as anyone who just wants to give it a go.





Hannig The sunny mountain Hannig (2,336 m a.s.l.) is a popular destination in summer as well as in winter. At the top of the mountain station you can marvel at the Saas mountain world on the terrace of the mountain restaurant Hannig. Children can let off steam in the playground next to the mountain goats. After soaking up the sun, there is plenty to experience on the mountain. Discover the sunny path to Saas-Fee, look over the shoulder of the alpine team making cheese at the Hannig alpine pasture, whizz down the mountain on the monster scooters or go on the enchanting fairytale trail at Mälchbodu. The large terrace invites you to soak up the sun thanks to the many hours of sunshine. Next to the restaurantis a playground for the little guests, who can linger in the play corner inside the restaurant in bad weather.





Spielboden - home of the marmots The Spielboden (2’488 m a.s.l.) is home to the popular marmots. Sighting and feeding the marmots is an animal experience for the whole family. Now you can learn a lot of exciting things about the cute mammals on the marmot trail. Families and culinary enthusiasts alike will get their money’s worth at the restaurant Spielboden. Marmots are probably the sweetest villagers in Saas-Fee. Explore the area of Spielboden or the Stafelwald and you will probably come across marmots. They like to be fed with peanuts and carrots all summer long. In winter the cute little fellows sleep peacefully in their caves. The hibernation lasts between 6 and 8 months. From mid-April the marmots are seen again and are looking forward to your visit!





Längfluh Rarely are you as close to the glaciers as on Längfluh (2869 m a.s.l.). If you want to go one step further, it is best to join a mountain guide for a tour on the Fee glacier or visit the glacier lake. The starting point is the Längfluh mountain station. From there you can hike comfortably to the glacier lake in about a quarter of an hour. In a sunny location in the Längfluh glacier area lies the Steinhütte Längfluh. In addition to delicious food with a view of a breathtaking panorama.





Kreuzboden - family mountain “Can I touch the animals, too?”. This question sounds familiar to many parents. Children don’t just want to observe animals from a distance, they also want to be able to touch and stroke them. This possibility is offered by the petting zoo at the Kreuzboden mountain station above Saas-Grund. In Hohsiland there are also other attractions during your family trip. The children can let off steam. Be it on the suspension bridge, on the climbing walls or other equipment. On a hot summer day you can cool down in our water park. At the mountain lake you can enjoy the free view of the Mischabel chain and over Saas-Fee. The Hohsiland can be reached in a short time. The Kreuzboden above Saas-Grund is easily accessible by cable car. Near the Kreuzboden mountain station is the beautiful Kreuzbodensee. Get from one side to the other by raft and enjoy the constant view of the highest mountains in Switzerland! You will be offered a wonderful panorama.





Hohsaas Adrenalin & view High up in the Hohsaas, the hearts of adrenaline junkies beat faster. The Hohsaas Bike Trail, the ascent to the Weissmies and the Glacier Experience Tour start from here. If you would like to learn more about the 18 four-thousand-metre peaks of the Saas Valley, you can follow the corresponding theme trail. The Trail of Impressions takes you to the Weissmies Hut and then to Kreuzboden. On the sun terrace you will be spoilt with an unforgettable view of the Monte Rose massif and the imposing mountains of the Saas Valley. The Weissmieshütte (2,726 m a.s.l.) is located on the west side of the Lagginhorn. The hut is easily accessible from the middle station of the Hohsaas cable car in one hour, even for families with children.





Saas-Almagell Tucked away in the picturesque tributary valleys, Saas-Almagell (1672m above sea level) is the southernmost village in the holiday region Saas-Fee/Saastal. This idyllic spot enchants hikers with the Suonen Trail up to Saas-Grund and the adventure trail from Furggstalden to the Almagelleralp. You can also follow the Roman flagstones up to then Monte Moro or Antrona passes. In winter, Saas-Almagell attracts guests with its wide slopes and beautiful cross-country ski trails. For more fun in the snow, visitors will also find cool toboggan runs, an ice rink and picturesque winter hiking trails.





Furggstalden and Heidbodme Relax above Saas-Almagell on Furggstalden (1,893 m a.s.l.) or Heidbodme (2,400 m a.s.l.). In addition to the unique view of the rear Saas Valley and Saas-Almagell, there are many typical old Valais houses to admire here. The adventurous Almagell adventure trail to Almagelleralp also starts at Furggstalden.Those who do not want to walk to Saas-Almagell can also take the scooter down. The mountain restaurant Alpina is located in the enchanting hamlet of Furggstalden, in the heart of the impressive mountain world of the Saas Valley with numerous peaks over 4000 metres high. Here, the little guests can let off steam in a playground.





Mattmark dam - power spot South in the Saas Valley is the largest earth dam in Europe, the Mattmark Dam. The dam, which is used to generate electricity, is a popular destination for excursions and is fascinating not only for its technical details but also for its wild and romantic location.





Saas-Balen Saas-Balen (1483m above sea level) lies at the northern border of the holiday region Saas-Fee/Saastal. The small mountain village, featuring the impressive Fellbach waterfall, entices visitors with scenic hiking paths up to spots such as the Weilern Matt and Heimischgartu. Cheese lovers shouldn’t miss out on a tasty trip up to Europe’s highest Alpine pastures on the Hoferalp, whereas art fanatics should swarm to Saas-Balen: its round church, built in 1812, is one-of-a-kind in Switzerland. What’s more, the church is located right by the starting point of a 26km-long cross-country ski trail, which leads visitors through snow-covered larch forests.





SaastalCard With the SaastalCard you are stress-free and mobile. From the 1st overnight stay onwards, with the SaastalCard you can use the cable cars in the Saas Valley free of charge (except Metro Alpin). All PostBus rides in the Saas Valley are also included (not valid for arrival and departure by PostBus). You also benefit from reductions of between up to 30 percent on a total of 36 offers. During your stay - and optionally on the day of arrival or departure - you can use 9 cable cars without restriction (excl. Metro Alpin). Dogs are not included and pay a quarter of the adult rate from a height of 30 cm. The SaastalCard or Magic Pass entitles you to purchase the Metro Plus ticket (Felskinn - Mittelallalin pedestrian ticket). You can use the Metro Alpin without restrictions during your stay for a one-time fee of CHF 45 (children 6-16 years, CHF 38.-). The Metro Plus ticket includes admission to the ice pavilion. For guests holding the SaastalCard and Magic Pass, the Saastal Bergbahnen offers a reduction on the Metro Plus ticket of CHF 5 for adults and CHF 3 for children. For the reduction, both cards must be presented at the ticket office.

Your home in Saas-Fee All 74 rooms and suites are designed in a modern alpine style. After a sporty day out in the mountains, they offer you enough space and peace for dreamlike regeneration. All rooms are equipped with all the amenities a 5-star luxury hotel offers. Natural materials were ddeliberately use, such as local woods like spruce and oak. Slate, stone and various wool fabrics exude comfort and pleasant warmth. The rooms and suites are located in the hotel’s main building and the apartment house, which can be reached on foot from the main building. Depending on the room, accommodation from 25 to 60m² for one to four people can be offered: 6 classic single rooms, 10 Deluxe double rooms, 10 Deluxe double rooms with glacier view, 11 Superior double rooms, 16 Superior double rooms with glacier view, 10 Junior Suites, 11 suites.



George Michael was here You remember the song «last christmas» of «Wham!? The video to that famous song was produced in Saas-Fee. Originally, the video for “Last Christmas” should have been shot in the canton of Bern. Because there was no snow there yet, the crew went to Saas-Fee for the shooting, where snow is guaranteed 42 weeks a year and George Michael stayed in the Walliserhof. You can still book that Suite. It is room 2501.

Fondue Stübli - Genuine Swiss delights. In the original Fondue-Stübli typical Swiss dishes are served. Whether cheese fondue or raclette in various variations, here tradition is paramount. In the Fondue-Stübli it is shown that fondue and raclette are not monotonous. There are 12 fondue variations and 2 different raclette cheeses to choose from.

Various saunas, steam bath, whirlpool and a light-flooded relaxation zone belongs to it.
