s a self taught artist all my artwork is inspired by the music I make as a producer & the music I listen to as a DJ, and also from what I see on an everyday basis, from colour & texture to shape & form. I also draw a lot of inspiration from the worldwide graffiti scene & the lifestyle & culture that is hip hop. The various colours & textures that I see in everyday life from an old rusty door to flaking paint on walls, and these inspirations build into multi textured pieces. I draw inspiration from inner city life and the natural decay of urban spaces.

have a strong attachment to the natural world and a nostalgia for how collecting started for me.
The Observer’s and Ladybird books, cigarette cards, maps and stamps that I use to make my work come from a more innocent age when i would pore over them by night and be out in the countryside looking for their contents by day. My work is a continuation of that obsession with collecting, cataloguing and observing’. Andrew Malone lives and works in Whitstable, Kent and is Course Leader for Further Education at UCA, Canterbury. He has exhibited all over the world. He has work in the Tate Britain collection and many Artists Book collections in the UK, Europe and Russia. He sources the matchboxes from all over the world, particularly Eastern Europe and India and a lot are from the 1950's and 1960’s.

fter a long career in higher education I discovered two new passions in my life in 2006: art and psychotherapy. I retrained as a therapist and have been continuously working towards improving my artistic output ever since that ‘Eureka’ moment. Much of my earlier range of work was influenced by my psychotherapy training; the pieces were concerned with memories and dreams peeling away at them layer by layer. The work that followed were abstract representations of landscapes finding inspiration in the beauty of the outside world: gentle landscapes in the UK, the Arctic Circle, the warm and fiery tones of Mediterranean countryside, dramatic skyscapes and the movement of the sea and the dramatic beauty of flowers. Viewers often comment on the strong colours that I use in my work. Observing nature offers the inspiration for the vivid greens, magentas and yellows that are frequently found in my work. Try as I might I struggle to work in monochromes – colour always creeps in and takes over.

I
am an artist, photographer and writer. I was born and studied in Manchester but now live in Yorkshire. My art studio is based at Sopa Creativa Art Studios in Huddersfield. I have been painting for as long as I can remember, possibly longer. My art sits on the walls of homes internationally. It's a wonderful feeling to know that your art has touched the hearts and minds of others. I am an abstract artist influenced by Gerhard Richter and Mark Rothko, my work explores our argumentative nature and the tension we bring to everything. I Use contrasting styles, techniques and bold colour choices. My intention is to create a battle for the viewers attention between foreground and background. A visually defined argument or discussion upon the canvas’s surface. Sometimes the painting will be the end... ...sometimes it is ‘digitally remixed'. Using photographs and software, I remix the original paintings concepts to create a different interpretation. This style of working harks back to my childhood, when the remix first began to feature in music. A song would be released with a remix as the B-side. Sometimes the remix would become bigger than the original song, it took on a life of its own and would be hardly recognisable to the original sound, but it owed its life to that original song without it, it couldn't exist.

onceptual visions using a variety of mediums from digital to photography and abstract panting. Exploring colour and texture to create from. My work is more from the subconscious no real plan as such but grows from a seed, a single point which looks to create form from chaos. My photography is an exploration of shape and light I look for reflection, contrast and work mostly in black & white. Abstract painting is my expression a dance on canvas. Digital is what I am known for drawing from anime and concept art in my early days, space and cityscapes to textured abstracts which I create today. I have no one style no one medium but a continuing evolution through experimentation.

I
have been an abstract expressionist painter since my early teens. The immediacy and freshness of this style as well as its complexity and boldness has always spoken to me. To this end I usually paint with acrylic paint in an alla prima style, in a spontaneous and physical way, moving back and forth across the canvas, making marks that dance across that surface. I start by introducing colour, shapes and line, then respond to their development. I move these elements around, adding and removing paint in multiple layers, having been described as an emotional painter. I've been described as an emotional painter, my abstract paintings are my first love as I am free to indulge and be spontaneous experimenting with colours and textures, creating multiple layers resulting in visceral unique painting with mood and depth. Over the years I have sold many paintings at Art & Craft Fairs and Exhibitions and, more recently, my paintings are in customers homes all over the world, Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, UK and the USA My inspiration comes whilst walking on the beach or in the many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty that Wales has; a holiday I've taken, seasons, landscapes and my imagination. In my abstracts I try to represent my personal thoughts and emotions which I capture on canvas and express through bold colour, strong composition, textures and shapes

eresa graduated from Chelsea College of Art in 2015. Through her work she questions the fidelity and validity of our personal histories and our perceptions of them, which in turn challenge our concepts of personal identity and self. The act of remembering is an act of creation. I interpret the concept of memory construction in my paintings by exploring how materials react and interact with each other. The drying time between applications, the order of layering and choice of media all contribute to a continuously changing outcome. Each layer interacts with and changes those that precede and follow it whilst retaining its own properties.
Teresa’s paintings are drawn from memories and abstracted such that the elements collate to form an emotional response using colour, rather than a literal interpretation. Her work calls upon her own experiences and childhood memories from Malta as source material. The metallic inks within the paintings change their appearance as the viewer navigates around the room, and in doing so creates different viewing experiences from multiple angles.

ick’s interest in nature and ecology, but mostly his obsession with colour is what drives his artistic passions and so inspired by the natural world he has forged an international reputation for his distinguished work. Painting directly to canvas with a limited palette of six pigments that of course, aligning himself with the French Impressionists, does not include black. Much like a water colourist he uses the white of the support to give luminosity below numerous layers of translucent colour glazes, he achieves the secondary and tertiary colours by successive layering.

irginia was born in Mendoza, Argentina but she has travelled and lived in different cities and abroad, which not only made her search for “there must be more”, but also to understand that the only thing that remains in all of those places is the art and architecture. She completed her Master of Science in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, since arts has many teachers as the source in it. Understanding that this is part of everyday life based on a tradition of values , which are timeless like the functionality, simplicity and beauty of all objects accompanied by a strong human and emotional burden, teaching her how to perceive our environment more sensitively and see the world from a different point of view. Therefore, through her paintings she expresses her feelings and thoughts, most of the time, inspired by music, as a representation of a “cloud constructor” of space and sensations that later are transferred, decoded into shapes, colours… leaving all the essence on the canvas. It is wonderful to see how something that comes from your mind creates a new world in others. That is one of the main elements that she wants to reflect, without a spectator and its own capability to see, to feel… the work wouldn’t “exist”.

P
aul specialises in contemporary semi-abstract seascapes and landscapes. The two themes are very different in mood, style and perspective, but all endeavour to generate a sense of intimacy and isolation while leaving the subject open to interpretation. The intention is to create from memory to produce finished work that is abstracted and more expressional than representational.
Paul’s main aim is to create work that is most definitely painted; an antidote to mass produced visuals we consume everyday. This is accomplished by using rich textures, multiple layers and brush/palette knife marks. Paul wants his paintings to tease out more than the eye can see, to draw people in and invite them to experience – not just consume – an image.
