Akiko Homma Born in Niigata, Japan Graduated from SOKEI academy of fine arts I use acrylic paints on wooden panel. I mainly paint flowers and women, based on yellow, cyan, magenta, without increasing the number of colors as much as possible. I am trying to look at the depth of that color/shapes which I cannot see. http://www.ak-truth.com https://www.instagram.com/ak_truth/ 新潟県生まれ 創形美術学校卒業。

I promise to keep a secret so please enlighten me

Who is this person and who does he think he is?

Uncle Ray Self intro as an unprofessional marketer but an art amateur. That does not stop my passion and vision to becom a true artist. By integrating modern context with traditional Chinese art style, I try to create an extraordinary universe beyond time and space where as if the characters are living in contemporary social life.

Yes! I like to play with the bird

BESTIE – BIRD SONGS Research shows that 85% of female will talk to their best friend, or “bestie”, when they face life or career challenges. As such, “bestie gathering” becomes their favorite activity during leisure time to destress some of those challenges. I attempt to understand and capture some of the unique natures of such gathering through a series of paintings. The first part of the series illustrates several distinct moments of the “bestie gathering”, such as conversations filled with broad range of topics, secret whispering and spontaneous giggles. As a man, I may never fully comprehend the discussions in the “bestie gathering”. To me, the conversation appears to be “Bird Songs”, melodious to the besties yet totally incomprehensible to outsiders.

43

I think I am quite beautiful, don’t you agree.

These besties are very noisy; I don’t fully understand their conversation.

Yidan Guo In Yidan’s art, her goal is not only to show what she sees and feels, but also to share the deeper emotions behind them. When people model for Yidan, she forms an inner connection with them. Yidan’s portraits are a way of revealing a state of mind that is shared by every human being, a common concern about happiness, fulfillment, mortality and eternity. These paintings convey the deep and subtle feelings involved in the connection between Yidan and her models. The layers of emotion she feels for them results in the quality of these paintings. Yidan Guo, currently is a guest artist/visiting professor at Southern Utah University. She was previously a faculty member at the School of Art at Renmin University in Beijing, China. Yidan earned a Master’s degree of Philosophy of Aesthetics from Renmin University of China, and a BA in Chinese Painting from the most prestigious Fine Arts institution of China–Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China (CAFA).
