I am a motivated and outgoing individual, who respects the opinion of others, enjoys working in a team, talking and sharing different ideas. Through my education and social activities I developed further my communicative and organisational skills, with an aim to reach high professional standards. Currently I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies. I chose to study Architecture as a way of expression. It enables to think beyond and broadens the knowledge of how aesthetics, function and technology could come together. Architecture for me is about creating space and improving the quality of life of people. Through my work I have been looking to discover a variety of ways in which this could be achieved.

At home in the city Housing in Munich
Brief: Design a housing block with a special attention to density and collective living aspects. The project is based in Giesing, a neighborhood in Munich along the river Isar. The public ground floor and the streetscape will also have to be carefully considered. Concept: A new public square in the dense neighborhood for the citizens of Giesing was opened up with the new building. The square is also connected to the other one across the rails to the south, which creates public interaction. The volume seeks to create a strong gesture in the corner, but also respects its surroundings by stepping down. Each floor was designed to have a common space wrapping around the flats, where neighbors could meet and have a chat.

Parliament of things
Part 2
Brief: An abstract one week design project which looked at a complicated scenario and relations between different actors around a particular issue, in order to create an internal space or a so called “parliament of things”, where the objects of the problem could be presented and all the involved actors could discuss, show scientific test and come to a conclussion. Concept: The general public would be able to access the Parliament through the spiral ramp, observe and take part in the dialogue, taking place between the representatives of the public in the circular zone. Scientific tests would be carried out in the lab in the rectangular space to reach a scientific solution of the environmental problem being discussed. The shape derives as the square representing the Earth and the circle and spiral representing infinity and perfection.
Brief: A one week project to design the external appearance of the “parliament of things”, after a detailed written explanation of the city and its situation and surroundings. Place the design wherever you consider suitable. Concept: The building was located on the hill wrapping around to give good view points towards all the problematic zones of the complex scenario. It is entered through a ramp as a metaphor of rising, on the way going through different spaces and discussing and reaching an agreement. Higher observation towers were fitted as well.

Breakfast at Tiffany's A cafe in Munich
Short Design Project Brief: Design a cafe above an existing structure next to Marienplatz in central Munich. Project completion in 3 days. Concept: The brick used on the existing structure was extended through and applied on the inside to create an outsideinside connection. Bright spaces were achieved through using glass between the beautiful timber pattern, which as well creates interesting shadows in the space. Part of the cafe is slightly lifted with steps in order to create several different zones in the cafe but at the same time connected with each other.

Brief: Design a Masterplan in the centre of Glasgow to tackle the issues of the dense urban environment. Thereafter design a housing block to accomodate up to 80 people. Concept: The masterplan was designed to deal with the lack of green areas, lack of schools or nurseries in the city centre and also to encourage social interaction. The entrance of the building was lifted to create a safe entry zone. The section is in split levels- to allow light deep in and also features a central lightwell with a garden on the public ground floor. Most flats are fitted in with a workspace to allow people to work from home. The flats would be perfectly suitable for young families and couples.

To Learn A library in St. Andrews
Brief: Design a Study Library in the historic ruins of St. Andrew close to the coastline within the city. Include a variety of single study and group study areas and a living space for visitors. Concept: On one hand the idea is based on the rhythm small-large spaces, which the gentle curve creates and reflects the idea of St. Andrews, when we are being pulled in through the pends and venels and collected on a busy street or square. On the other hand it reflects the linearity of ruins of the Cathedral site

Synagogue in Inveraray
Brief: Explore the architectural style and customs of a certain religion and design a place of worship for up to 80 to gather on a service in Inveraray, Northern Scotland. Concept: The idea is based on the spiral as form of pure transition, not only physical but spiritual as well. The entrance (beggining of transition) is turned towards the town centre to invite the community. Before entering the holy space you go through the social space to meet and talk with people sharing the same religious views. The social space could open up towards the holy space or open out to the lake when more space is required for celebrations or events. On the upper level is situated a library and a place, where people could read a book, relax and enjoy the view of the lake and city.
